How long did it take for your newborns’ umbilical cord to fall off? My baby is 2 weeks old tomorrow and he still has his cord. The health visitor said it might take longer because he had to take antibiotics for 5 days when he was born

My daughter was almost 2 weeks. The midwife was a bit worried and phoned me one day to check it had come off and literally I was in the middle of changing my daughter and it came off and I said well it's off now and she said okay thanks then hung up xxxx

3 days for Theo, 5 days for Aniela. I wouldn't worry if your midwife isn't concerned :) x

Five days for mine, don’t worry if the midwife wasn’t concerned and there are no signs of infection xx

At What Age Should a Child Make Their Own Breakfast?

Make your own breakfast! At what age do you think a child should be making their own breakfast? I have a 10 year old and I think he is perfectly capable of making himself breakfast. It doesn't take rocket science to put some waffles into the toaster, or microwave some pancakes. My husband insists that he needs to have breakfast made for him because if we left it up to him he wouldn't eat enough and it would take him forever.
