How do you get an almost 2 year old to talk? My oldest is an amazing talker and never stops 😂 my middle son, turns 2 next month, and doesn’t really say anything. Understands you almost 100% of the time cuz if you ask him to get something he will, tell him no he listens, but when I ask for communication back I get nothing...
At Zay’s 2 year checkup my sons pediatrician sent us for a speech eval. Now my son is almost 6 and doesn’t stop talking. Early intervention is everything in my world!.
While people say things like their kids didn’t talk until later, my thought is by the time a child turns 8, their language is at it’s peak development and the years go by so fast. This to me means if you have minimal words at 2 then you need to talk to the pediatrician about it and come up with a game plan.
My nephew didn’t talk until about three years old. Absolutely nothing was wrong with him I guess he was just observing everything now he talks so intellectually it’s crazy like the big words he uses has his mom and myself looking like where did you learn that lol. He also taught himself how to read.
You don’t, he will talk when he is ready. My oldest didn’t talk until he was 2.5, my second was talking short sentences at 15 months every child is different. My youngest is 19 months old and only just started saying words other then mama and dada. As long as you are talking to him and reading to him he will talk when he is ready.
I’m going through this same worry as well, did things finally changed with your son? I’m taking mine to his pediatrician next week. I’m super worried
