So I’ve always pumped only one boob at a time , I know .. time consuming and annoying . Do you guys think if I did both I’d see an increase in supply/how much I get per pumping session? I just ordered a pumping bra ... so I’m just wondering if it’ll help some .
I always got more when I pumped both at one time and hardly any when I did one at a time. If I had to do one at a time I couldn't get empty so I'd have to turn around and pump again or hook up and pump both at once.
@briannalynn547 the amount you are getting is totally normal. Make sure all your parts fit correctly and you could try something with electrolytes. Maybe on weekends you could also try power pumping or pumping late at night or early morning.
@scidg3, I normally pump late at night a lot . I feel like my flange doesn’t fit good and tbh pictures don’t help me lol a little frustrating . Especially since my breasts are so big it’s hard to keep the pump in one spot while holding it
@briannalynn547 its not so much the part on your breast but the part around your nipple. You want it to not be too large or too small because that can affect amount. Pumping bra hopefully will help so it doeant move. Good luck, i hope you get results.
Also I forget to add make sure you are hydrating and drink a ton of water that helps build a supply
I exclusively pumped for a little over a year. In my experience I could only pump one boob at a time because I couldn't get enough suction if I had the pump on both of my breasts. (I also have large breasts)
For me, pumping one at a time, allowed me to fully empty my breasts and maintain my supply.
If you're looking to increase your supply I highly recommend drinking tons of water and eating oatmeal for breakfast with blackstrap molasses drizzled over the top, and massaging your breast while you pump. I also had a pretty intense pumping schedule. I pumped every 3 hours around the clock for the first 4 months for at least 30 minutes each session (15 min per boob) and then changed my schedule to pump every 4 hours for at least 30 minutes. So all told I was attached to a pump between 3 and 4 hours a day for over a year. I usually was able to pump an extra 8 oz a day, and by the time I was finished with my pumping journey I had almost 3000oz of frozen breast milk in my freezer.
@briannalynn547 you can usually find it at a health food store. Or here's a link on amazon

@briannalynn547 and honestly blackstrap molasses upped my supply by 10oz a day when added it to my oatmeal.

I use to use this pump till my son broke it but its called motfi luna I think that's how it's spelled and I pump both for stronger let down and I take supplements to keep uo but I dont pump no more i supple on demand
@mumma_0fo2, no I’m terrified too because I akways hear mixed things . Some say it increased some said decreased
@briannalynn547 i different effects increase and decrease but when. I drink a crap loud of milk it super increase or morning time is best
It could bc of a stronger let down or what I do is I pump my fuller boob and feed Ellie on my less full boob
I have such large breasts it’s hard to make sure my boobs not suffocating him on one side and keeping my nipple in the right spot on the other. Same with pumping I cant keep them like , on the nipple the way they should be at once lol
@briannalynn547,
I’m sure your not suffocating him u would just make sure his nose is turned and free so he can breath
talking about breastfeeding and pumping I’m noticing my fuller boob the one I feed on more and the one I pump on my nipple is sticking up straight . I wonder what my boobs will look like after breastfeeding 2 kids lol
Breastfeeding moms: so I am planning on going on a 3 day vacation with my hubby & a bunch of friends to Catalina in May, (my baby won't be going with us) and I do not wanna be pumping and dumping every 2 hours out there.. so if I don't pump or breastfeed for 3-4 days, will my milk supply drop significantly? 😩😩 & I don't know how I'm gonna deal with the engorgement pain if I can't find time to pump out there.
I just had to buy formula for the first time. And it's so expensive I could cry!
Short Luteal Phase?
I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
Ladies I called my insurance about breast pump and they said with their insurance in order to get a pump I get a prescription from doctor then I call 3 different numbers to see what my insurance covers but the only thing is I have to wait til baby is born to call and get pump so I want to at least buy a hand pump which do you ladies recommend for hand pump and when I can get a pump from insurance please n thank you 💖💖
