My son has to do e learning for 2 weeks starting today because someone in his class tested for covid
Do I test him and everyone In the house now? His principal sent an email just saying to watch out for symptoms and test if they have them.
Now onto e learning
Here we go again. Already not out to a great start. I dont like how uninformative his teacher is. She is a very strict lady and it's very nerve wracking to communicate with her because she acts like I'm stupid if I don't know what she's talking about or I misunderstand her emails. She sent a very vague email about virtual classroom and all she said was lick on the link to do virtual class. I clicked on it. It was a meetings app so I installed it and its just a video chat thing and no one is there and I tryed signing into my sons google classroom. The same way from last year so I'm not sure if it's the same or not but it wouldn't let me. Already off to a rough start so mlm I'm just waiting for his teacher to email me back
Also doesnt help that my son is not the best at explaining things and hes vague also and just I'm so lost and it seems like he is too

I wouldn’t get tested if nobody is showing symptoms, it would be easy to get a false negative because it’s too early to test. We’ve had a few kids test positive around our schools and none of the kids that have had to quarantine have gotten sick.

For us. We need to wait for the teacher to join the chat after we click on the link. You were probably in the right place. But the teacher hadn't logged in yet. Sometimes for us, we need to wait 10 minutes or so before the teacher starts the class

The link doesnt work. Idk if it's my phone or whatever now I'm just trying to find a charger for my sons computer to see if it works that way. Finally now just got to be able to get into google classroom after almost 2 hours of trying

I believe they say to wait until you have symptoms otherwise there would be extra thousands of people testing every time they think they have covid. Teacher sounds like an ass, but I would still email her. Wouldn’t care if she’s annoyed, it’s her job. And things are extra confusing with online learning. Sounds rough, love. But hopefully everything turns out fine.

As far as the testing for covid19 goes. I think you need to wait until you have symptoms. At least that was what happened in my case. I tested positive for covid and they wouldn't test my husband or my kid until they developed symptoms even though we live in the same house. Hubby had to lie and say he had symptoms even though he didn't at that time. He tested positive once he got the test and got actual symptoms 2 days later
