If you walked into someone’s house, and saw a “please remove your shoes” sign, would you think they’re weird? Lol.
I was just getting ready to order one.
Not weird at all. We always ask guests to take off their shoes in the house. Not only do shoes carry a ton of germs but they also track a lot of dirt on carpet.
A lot of Asian cultures do this. I grew up doing this and never knew different. We had a specific pair of shoes that were only to be worn in the house. Now it drives me crazy that my husband didn’t grow up that way and wears his shoes everywhere.
I used to not like taking my shoes off, but now I can’t stand them in the house.
I now know that house just a little cleaner seeing as all the grime from outside isn’t left across their floors
& agreeing with @scruffy.nerf.herder! I ask any cable man or maintenance men to put on booties or I offer them bags to put over their shoes!! I don’t want other people’s germs where my daughter plays 🥴😆
Speaking from the perspective of someone who has been inside many houses as part of my job, there’s no way in hell I’d take off my shoes. Some houses are disgusting! If you’re there to do a job, shoes should be left on. Besides, who wants the plumber’s stinky sock feet on your floors?
I feel like it’s different if it’s a visitor such as family or friends. In that case, as the guest, I would absolutely respect that request and take off my shoes. But I also know that their homes would be much cleaner than the ones I went to for my job.
@squishymommy1, @massgirl, not a service person, but I worked as a community based child & family therapist for many years before my current position. We had to go in people’s homes all the time with no “booties” available to use. And the filth was rampant.
@jennatess, my comment wasn’t meant as disrespect to your home or level of cleanliness. There is another world out there, one of extreme poverty, cockroaches, and bedbugs. Definitely not going shoeless in those conditions.
@scruffy.nerf.herder, oh I didn’t read it disrespectful even slightly! I totally understood!
Um absolutely not i do the same thing without the sign 😂
Nope k
I had one and noone listened so it got bigger and ruder take ur fucking shoes off. :)
What would you do with $25,000
If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?

My shoes were off before I entered your home, so yes, I think it's weird that the sign isn't outside. Lol. 😉We take our shoes off outside on the porch and I had a sign on the door for the handful of people who we have over. If you can't or won't take your shoes off before you come in then I'm sorry I can't have you over.
Get the sign! It's a good habit to form!!!
