Anyone else a first responder wife or s/o? I haven’t heard from my husband in 12 hours and that’s not like him. I know he’s probably just really busy but my mind goes in another direction. Can anyone else relate? Can someone talk me out of calling his station? I hate this part.
Thank you. I finally heard from him around 10pm he was super busy. He doesn’t work in the best part of town so that adds stress for me but it is what it is. I signed up for this when we got married. I just got the mom guilt/stress on top of it now. Thank you!
@allamericanmommy glad all is well and anytime. Even though we all (partner's included) signed up for it - it doesn't make it any less scary when this world is a crazy place.
Oh, forgot to ask, what position is he in? Fire or law enforcement? EMT? And how long are his shifts?
Sure he is busy. They have protocols in place for emergencies relating to first responders and someone would be at your door if there were bad news. Send him a text letting him know you love him and are concerned and that you're praying for his safety and ask him to just send a text to check in when he can to let you know he is ok. If you check the local news and something really bothers you, you can always call and then talk to him during his next stint at home about how you can both work out this anxiety together and when it would be appropriate for you to call. Tell him your concerns without being overly emotional in the moment bc you don't want him to be distracted on the job worrying about you in an emergency. But clear, honest communication and a plan for the times when he goes unusually long periods of time without contacting you will help you get through this tough career ahead of him. You're his backbone and he is yours. Stay strong!!!
He is a paramedic FF he is on 24 hour shifts. I finally heard from him around 10pm. He was really busy. I told him that he needs to try to text me in between calls if he can just a simple hi or something and I told him that I would work on not stressing out so much haha and thank you!
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!

I will be 41 :/
AF due 29th, anyone else?
Hi all AF is due 29th Sept for me feels like forever away. Has anyone tested yet or when do you plan on testing x
My husband is a police officer and this happens occasionally. We live in a quieter area that he also works in, so he is usually really good at checking in. The odd time something will happen that causes him to travel - sometimes to an area with limited or no service. I would text first and check in/let him know you're thinking of him. I don't know about your SO, but mine carries his work and personal cell in his vest. Thinking of you and sending you positive vibes. ❤
