@dontspankme, yeah I’ve seen some of the boxes at the stores so that’s where I saw the pictures. I’m not really sure when they went from simple little dolls to dolls in lingerie

@supermomof4, ah I understand. My daughter received this one on her birthday from my friend. They are always surprises on which doll you get so we never notice until it’s actually opened.

@dontspankme, I haven’t bought any since last year so maybe that’s a difference. The very first ones we bought when they came out told you to put them in ice water and it changed their hair color and that was about it. It wasn’t until Christmas last year I noticed the “stockings” on them so we had the discussion about it and I haven’t bought anymore. But I didn’t realize when I bought that huge box it did show a picture of the doll in this unappealing outfit. I just didn’t realize it until it was too late.

Mine didn’t say emerge in ice cold water. I agree the fashion isn’t what little kids wear and that always rubbed me the wrong way but I just wanted to make my girls happy. This whole secret outfit isn’t cool and is much more worse than the outfits they come with. The one in the links I put up are much more worse.

@catfish2220, ohhh ok I know what you mean! They did make the new boy dolls as anatomically correct meaning their genitals are on the boy dolls. I haven’t bought any of the boys one though

@dontspankme I didnt know about it when we got them. It doesnt bother me all that much. Shes got a little brother and knows thats where he pees from and has watched me change his diapers and bath him since he was born so it's nothing new to her. But it surprised me when i saw it lol. I was upset about the outfits though. We just don't let her put them in water anymore. They are her favorite toys so i hate to take them from her.

@catfish2220, yeah the boys dolls don’t bother me either. I understand where you’re coming from. My girls don’t care for much of their toys so getting rid of it they won’t even notice lol

@dontspankme I heard about this movie, and I think the movie art is terrible, but I read what the movie is actually about, and I was looking forward to see it 😩 I wanted to judge if it was bad or not, smh.

@luna_bear I think, and don't this take as gospel now, but I think it's early grooming. A lot of people will say "oh, these are innocent toys and children are so innocent, it's the adults who are making it out to be sexual!" The problem I see is this, whether kids view it as innocent, or adults are making it out to be sexual... it IS sexual.

Yes, little children are viewing them with innocent eyes, what these companies are trying to do is normalize these things to little children, using the children's innocence to trap them. If a child sees her dolls dressed like that, what would make her think it's NOT ok to dress like that, be dressed like that, or behave in that manner?

A 3 year old getting exposed to this won't see a problem with it, and won't know something is wrong if anyone treats them in that manner, and might mimic the doll's expressions or noises when they (the children) are handled in that way (poppy doll.)

Big Hollywood is full of pedophiles, rapists, and sexual predators in general, I guess toy companies think "Hollywood gets away with it, why won't we?"

Kids view everything innocently and with awe, I remember the first time my son experienced a few stuff, little things I take for granted excited him to no end, lol. After a while, he got used to feel of dirt on his feet, and he got used to the taste of food... after a while, children will get used to dolls being sexual and being sexualized won't "be a bad thing," 🤷🏿‍♀️ that's my 2 cents on that (more like 2 dollars with this novel, lol)

It took me awhile to find even one of my daughters dolls. I used to just throw them away because the girls will online play with it for a few days after opening. If you find any, it won’t hurt to try the ice water and then TRASH! With their weird hidden agenda, ugh.

@dontspankme They will be. Yes ma'am. I have strong convictions regarding their education and innocence. So much I'd love to share but my thumbs and chores won't let me. I'll say this: when your children are exposed to something inappropriate speak to them truthfully about it and why it's important that they understand how those things can negatively affect/impact them. Explain why you want to protect them from such things and why those things are not ok for your family. That is the only thing you can do at that point and then refrain from bringing it into your home. As they get older they will see the difference between their friends and your family and how things affect the friends. It may take until they are way older to appreciate the protection but the day will come.

@xryztalroze, thank you. Yes I am very truthful when it comes to things that they hear about or learn. I just hate that kids are almost being forced to grow up fast. I see lots of more long talks in our futures but I rather them learn the truth from me.

@dontspankme Open, honest conversation is the only way. We must stay ahead of the curve and meet our children where they are to help them get to where they are going and where ever want them to be. Truth must be the foundation on which we stand but we must also remember to tell them the truth in an age appropriate manner.

@kush_queen420, parents know what they are buying with barbies. This doll is literally a surprise doll in each package so you don’t know what you are getting which is appealing to little kids. Parents also didn’t know of the lingerie looking ass secret outfits that kids have to find. @dontspankme, they are weird dolls (likeBratz dolls lol). Dd had one and I found it somewhere and chucked it because it smelled toxic. It was the mini version. I think she got it in a gift bag few yrs ago.
