@lou-lou27, my guess would be she got lucky then. Buprenorphine (Suboxone) isn't on the standard drug panel run at the hospital. Unless they were told to test for it, it wouldn't show on a standard drug screen. Pills can be outta your system in a matter of days. If she's just using one when she doesn't have the other, all she'd have to do is go a few days to a week on sub, with no pills and she's test clean on a standard piss test. Pills are easy to get outta you'r system quickly and no one but the docs prescribing sub are testing for it. It's a seperate, more expensive test that 90% of places ain't payin for. They figure if they're straight on a standard 8 panel, they must not be that bad.

Certain pills won't show up at all. And if she told them she was taking suboxone for treating purposes they won't test the baby for it. I used to work in a pain management clinic.

Testing the baby is different from testing mom. Some things just won't show up in an infants fetal matter (which is what they usually test). If the tested the umbilical cord blood that should show. But if she was honest with the doctors and told them everything it's not something they are going to stress out about either.
