Fabric masks are worn to protect others. The people described who may not be able to wear a mask represent a very minute portion of the population, certainly not the 25%+ of the population that’s walking around maskless. So while I understand some people cannot wear masks, the vast majority can and should. I would not shame anyone who is not because I don’t know why they’re not wearing one, but I’m sure as hell going to go out of my way to avoid being near them.
That’s all I think this is about, not shaming them but stay your distance. I know my mother in law in on oxygen and Walmart threw a fit about her wearing a mask but she literally cannot because of wearing her oxygen. I thought it was awful the way she was treated and you can clearly see the oxygen tubes on her face and they wrap around her ears. It’s not always about someone not wearing it because they don’t want to.
I do think the tone of this image is slightly inflammatory with the sarcastic use of the word “force field” - but I know you didn’t create it. Honestly, your MIL should be staying home right now and getting grocery delivery or pick up or having family help out. Best to be safe right now! (Not shaming anyone, I know how hard it is to keep that generation at home.)
oh it’s very hard! But getting pick up is almost impossible in our town and I don’t know why. And she didn’t ask for help because my husband and I are usually the only ones to help her and she didn’t want to bother me. I told her she has 8 kids and she can make one of them get her groceries and prescriptions if needed!
I just move away from people, no need to be confrontational about anything. Like the former RNC chair Michael Steele said, "You live in the bubble and you die in that bubble" if you aren't wearing a mask for political/ignorance reasons. He was talking about his friend Herman Cain.
It's a shame people don't have common sense. Just basic science will tell you that yelling at someone and having them yell back is going to get you waaaaaaay more exposed to covid than pushing your cart quietly to another aisle. Our society has gotten so incredibly bold and rude. :(
I feel if ur so sick u can't put a mask on u should get pickup they can't breath with a mask they can't breath with covid.
Most of these ppl do it for a stance not bcuz they need to like the kids that killed the buss driver bcuz he made them wear a mask on his bus u can kill somone but can't wear a mask! It's irks me to the mask I do try to walk away from it but its hard
I get that I see both sides but I also think if she is o2 uk what would happen if she got it? She could quite possibly die and that be sad for everyone. Its a hard line im a hha so I struggle to see ppl in situations if I saw this id be the type of person the be like listen give me ur list and money go sit in ur car and ill get jt for u.
It risk everyone themselves ppl around them the ppl that have to take care of them when they get it. Its sad state of life we are in and ppl are getting meaner and meaner

So I live in a small ass town. Our stores don't do delivery or pick up. I have no choice but to go in and get my groceries. I was raped, and abused by an ex. He tried smothering me. I cant wear a mask I try. I try every time I go out. And then it ends with an asthma attack so bad I am in urgent care across the street getting a neb treatment and steroids. It's happened 6 times since the mask mandates started. I don't have people that can go out for me and get groceries. I try to be as quick as possible. Go in with a list, I have disinfectant wipes with me to wipe down the cart and things I touch, I use my hand sanitizer, and the cart makes a good barrier to keep people behind me in line far enough away and I stand as far away as possible when in line from the people in front. But the anxiety and depression let alone the asthma just makes the mask thing a giant pita.

In most cases yes but you can’t always get pickup. I explained a situation in the comments above that irritated me

Or they could get delivery or curbside pickup instead. The point of a mask is to keep OTHERS safe.

I have terrible asthma & can still wear a mask for hours on end. It doesn’t affect your breathing.
