I don't mean to sound like a bad mom or anything but one thing I regret as a mom is breastfeeding. I really wasn't sure if I wanted to do it in the first place. When my oldest was born she had low BS so she had to get formula right away. The nurse asked if I planned to breastfeed and I know I should've said no but I didnt want the judgement of refusing to breastfeed. I'm grateful for all the help they provided getting me a lactation consultant. I actually left the hospital breastfeeding. My oldest shows no sign of weaning soon and if she doesn't get it she will literally scream and make me just want to run. She has a habit of coming to breastfeed every few mins and idk why. I can't take the crying so I give in. If she has to sleep breast, she's upset breast (i know it comforting) she will refuse to eat and breastfeed all day and I still have to breast feed the little one. She makes it so difficult to feed the little one sometimes because she will want to be on the other side. I'm sick of it and now I have to deal with the guilt of wanting to stop both of them but I just can't take anymore. I recently bought formula and give to my little one and I cried seeing her drink from the bottle. I just wish the same way they push for breastfeeding they'd say it's ok to bottle feed too.

If you want to quit. Quit. I hated breastfeeding.

My daughter had super bad reflux and my breast milk would make her so much worse for some reason so I ended up formula feeding with the special spit up formula. I felt so guilty about it that I actually even worked hard to get my milk back and would pump but not give it to her. The guilt the pro breastfeeding people lay on is extreme! I’m going to try again this time but I’m done putting myself through the hell I went through the first time battling myself every day about it. If it doesn’t work out I won’t freak. Do what you need to be a happy mom because that means so much more

Thank you! I wish I didnt feel so bad. Even tho I breastfeed I envy the ones that bottle feed. I have to make up my mind to deal with her crying until she's over it because I am

Yes! That's why it makes me feel a way when they still try to push it and make you feel guilty for wanting to stop

It’s because she is competing with her baby sister. She wants you all to herself. I didn’t have this problem with either of my kids because of their age gap probably, and I breastfed my daughter til 2.5, and still breastfeeding my son now. At 18 months she is still at breastfeeding age so I’m not really sure how you can wean her other than try to make her realize she’s a big girl now. Don’t cut off your infant because she really does need that nutrition.

Trust me I've tried always give in because of the crying. I feel the most guilty for cutting the little one because the big one breastfed for so long but mentally and physically I'm exhausted from doing it

I don’t know if this helps at all, but I just weaned my daughter who breastfed until she was three. I was really nervous that weaning would be hard (which is why I put it off) since she was a toddler, but I found some organic weaning balm on Amazon that’s basically stinky organic Neem oil. It comes in a chapstick-type tube. I rubbed it on my nipples, told her my milk had gone bad because she was a big girl, she took one sniff of it and never tried to nurse again. It was ridiculously easy! I wish I’d discovered it sooner! 😄

I quit around 8-9 months or so. I read into it quite a bit and I felt like I had done my best. I was happier when I quit and I do not regret it or miss it at all.

I had posted on here and I was given a lot of support to do what made me happy.. I did it and I pass on that advice.

I know I'll be happier when I quit. It's getting over the guilt. Mentally I'm just over it

I felt the same way. I was capable, succeeding and he loved it. Quitting felt like being a bad mother.. I never wanted to breastfeed and I was disappointed I could so well too. That made me feel even worse to wish that I couldn't.. I understand the guilt of preparing to quit but I did not feel guilty after

Don't feel bad about that! I didn't enjoy breastfeeding either but I kept going because I felt guilty. I weaned her off at about 1 year and 6 months (no idea how the hell I even lasted that long). She yelled and screamed but I didn't give in.

It doesn't make you a bad mom.I did breastfeed my first child. Because it freak me out 🤷🏾‍♀️ My two girls I had such a hard time breastfeed so they both got both. My last girl I just gave up. Now with this one. I will try to do it again. But this time I will not beat myself up so much if I am not unable to do it. You are doing the best you can. Don't worry so much.

Aaww, don't regret breastfeeding, it's an experience. Just remember that you are free to stop when you're ready. Baby is still able to get nutrients and a full tummy with formula. I'm so sorry that it was sad to see your ds2 with a bottle, you're doing great! Your mental health matters and your girls need a happy and healthy mom. Don't feel guilty about wanting to stop. You tried, you gave it your best, it's ok ❤
