***NEED FORMULA ADVICE*** I brought Waylon to the doctors. He has been spitting up a lot. Because of this, he is loosing weight. His doctor suggest I try a formula mixed with breastmilk. Something specifically made for spiting up. And he said maybe something with rice or cereal in it. I need advice. What brands did you use. What worked best. Last time I used formula, it was for my now 5 year old. I just used enfamil. Nothing special bc he didn't spit up or have allergies or anything. I exclusively breastfed Liam.

I believe similac makes a formula for spitters. On their website it has all their formulas and what they’re good for

We used enfamil AR. It has added rice starch

yup that’s the one

my 7 year old would throw up a lot as well and we switched to AR and it helped right away. Hope it works out for your lil one 🤞🏽

My son was on Enfamil Nutramigen

Mine too and it worked for us.

I used gentlease formula for my lo it worked well. I did mix it with breastmilk. But lo may have an allergy to something you consume. Try cuttings from your diet. It can take 2 weeks to see a change. And I wouldn't do rice or cereal yet. And enfamil ar is really good. If you need something for sensitive tummies and a higher calorie count nutriminagen is good.

He didn't say to mix rice or cereal with it, he said to try to find something with it already in the formula like the AR. I'm thinking Waylon might have lactose intolerance like Liam did. But with Liam I just cut dairy out of my diet. I might just do that this time to see if it helps. Thank you sooo much

you are very welcome good luck with your lo. I had to cut dairy out of my diet, and certain vegetables. It helped my lo so much.
Ally··
oh yea! I forgot about veggies. Broccoli use to give Liam such bad gas when I would eat it. Thank you

I used to baby sit a little girl who spit up a lot and her mom used Similac For Spit Up, it's in a green container and it worked great for her. It has rice starch to make it thicker and easier to keep down.

We had to use similac with my last she had reflux and spit up a lot

I know this is not what you want advice for but literally nothing worked with my daughter until another mom with similar problems told me to literally burp her every ounce to 2 ounces and it worked! No more spit up and now she burps on her own so no more spit up at all. If your formula doesn’t work maybe try that.
Ally··
We've been trying that. He will burp a million times and still spit up 😔

Gentlease worked for my son, enfamil AR made him constipated but it is suppose to help with the reflux.

Similac was making my son throw up a lot even the sensitive one so I switched him to enfamil gentle ease

We had tons of formula issues with my first son. Lots of spitting up - almost whole bottles worth. Turns out he was lactose intolerant. Once we switched to a lactose free formula it was a completely different kid.

I tried every formula and every trick in the book with both my kids and they’re both heavy spitters . Nothing ever helped . I hope you find something that does , some babies stomachs just can’t handle it . I exclusively breast feed my son now and still the same . But I had tried 3 different formulas to see if it made a difference and it didn’t so Im keeping him on the breast
