What do people think of multch in place of grass?
My back yard is basically dirt and weeds and leaves. I racked up the leaves and pulled the weeds getting ready for when I put multch in one area which I was thinking around the fire pit and that whole area. Then I got to thinking what would it look like if I did the whole back yard which isnt huge or anything. I have a play set and a few things that are in the backyard also
Transgender children So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do u think the parents are behind this? Idk because I haven't met the parents or children. I just think at 5 it's very young for children to really understand. What do u ladies think?

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

I would join a gardening group on Facebook in your area and ask about grass seed that works well in the heat/sun and also what works well in shade and try that first. Mulch is horrible for splinters, especially if you have kids (don't get me started on pets trying to eat it.)

It would be very messy and mulch can be moldy. I would grow grass.
Our backyard was like that after we had a dog who constantly dug. We debated just pouring a concrete slab (tiny backyard) but ended up doing a big garden.

We have red mulch around our trees, and rubber mulch around our pool, and red mulch around the trampoline, play set. You should get some grass seed and plant. Grass should grow fairly quickly.

We have a few playgrounds around that used mulch last year and my kids kept getting splinters in their feet and legs and hands. It was horrible!!! Grass seeds are pretty cheap and they have some for shady areas even and I think that would be your best bet.

I have row of huge pine trees, so no grass period just dirt and pine needles, I thought about like the rubber mulch stuff you sometimes see in playgrounds, or just mulch, but then I think about my dogs chewing on that crap and eating it, and it changed my mind lol.

We have a row of pine trees too, I hate them for this reason & they block all the sun to our yard. We are thinking about cutting them down.

@onehotmess, I love our pine trees for the opposite reason actually it provides shade for our house, but not having any grass there is annoying, I’m glad they are in the back yard and not the front.

They make this stuff out of recycled rubber that looks like mulch. My MIL put some by the kids play ground at her houses and it’s been doing good for the past 4/5 years.

I know in the places we use mulch we have to replace each year to look nice.
