Whew. Today has been a roller coaster of emotions. Mila’s 2 month checkup was today and to my surprise, she’s gained nothing. She’s now in the 2%. Freaked me out bc there are literally no signs of her not eating well. Well, we found out today that she has a heart murmur and that could be the cause of her poor weight gain so we made an appointment to see the cardiologist. On top of it all, found out she also has thrush. Had literally no idea 🙃 trying hard to not feel like a bad mama

YOURE NOT! These things happen. I had a heart murmur that eventually closed on its own in my teens. Didn’t bother me one bit and I was very athletic. Don’t feel bad! It’s a good thing for check ups cause now we can fix the issue :)

Awhhh poor baby. Don't blame yourself for something completely out of your control. You're doing everything you can and now you know why there's some issues.

It was just unexpected bc I honestly thought she was getting what she needed. And now I feel guilty for saying that I hate breastfeeding. Kinda like I jinxed myself or something lol have no idea how I missed the thrush. Just feel like I don’t have it together haha

Sometimes things are hard to see. Don't beat yourself up over it. My youngest had thrush and I noticed only when I got mastitis. I felt horrible. Just relax and know you're doing a great job and that you're a great mother.

I thought thrush was painful for baby and mom but apparently not lol

Thank you! It’s hard not to blame myself for not knowing something was wrong but I know she’ll be okay and it’s not my fault.

You're welcome! I went through a medical situation with my first DD, who has taken meds since she was 4 days old, and a minor one with DD2(she outgrew hers thankfully!). I know it's hard but I want you to know you're not alone... 🙂 YES, she WILL!!

Awe hang in there. My sister and I both had murmurs as kids. It turns out to be fairly common and oftentimes resolves itself eventually.

Yeah, that’s what the pediatrician told us. But combined with the poor weight gain, she wanted us to get her checked out further. I’m hoping the murmur has nothing to do with her weight and it’s just my milk supply.
