They're swabbing everyone that gets admitted into the trust I work for. They wouldn't have the results for 24hours so they would likely just keep you in your own room which is standard for Labour anyway and the staff wear masks as a precaution xxx
Yes I got tested when I first got to the hospital was in birthing pool room then labour really kicked in got moved to a private room.. Had my little one in the room then they got results back and I went on to labour ward.. It's to protect everyone is best as possible.. Test wasn't as bad as people say x

They made my sister take a test before she gave birth. That was in America

I had to be tested for them to admit me on to the ward so I believe so if it hasn’t changed since then x

Yes they have recently introduced this at my local hospital.
