I'm thinking about getting someone to deep clean my house. Has anyone had a cleaning service before? What's it like? Were you there or did you leave when they were cleaning your home? Do I have to pick up before hand?
I have been thinking about this for months now but I feel as if I need to pick up a little before hand. I'm not sure how it works

I had one when we moved out of our old house. I got it off Amazon and would definitely not recommend amazon. My house smelled like bleach and the cleaning job sucked. I've hired cleaners before and had a good experience, I was never home because they'd come during work but my house was always clean and smelled great

I've done it before. Find someone that has been doing it for a long time. Not someone that is looking to make a quick buck. I've found that older women tend to be the best. Be very specific about what you want done and leave room for what the person is willing and not willing to do. I didn't have kids at the time but my ex husband did leave his shit everywhere. It was not her responsibility to clean up. She was there to deep clean. A lot of time the price also depends on the sq footage of the home. My previous home was 2k sq ft. For $250 I got...
-Dusting whole house (baseboard, lamps, light fixtures, tops of cabinets, behind toilets, etc)
-Vacuum/mop floors and shampoo area rugs
-clean mirrors, sinks,tubs, and washer/dryer/dishwasher
-windows
It would generally take about 2-3 hours and I would leave for the day. This was in Florida too so it was cheap. I'll probably get one up here once I go back to work part time. I like to stay on top of the dust especially because my daughter has asthma

Well my house is cluttered so I should probably try this in a month or so. That's what I was afraid of. Its 2 story and just a mess. Especially upstairs. Seems as if I do one room or even the whole d of whole downstairs then think to myself ok. Tomorrow I'll do the upstairs and the next day I'll go from one room to the next decluttering and cleaning as I go. Doesnt work with 3 kids it seems plus a grown man who is just as messy if not worse. We aren't together but hes been sleeping in the living room and barely sleeps its just a nightmare. I do have a garage converted to a bed room so I'm actually in the process of cleaning it up and telling him to sleep in that room insofar the living room. Because I'm OCD and I hate it has gotten bad and driving me crazy with all the cleaning 4x a day then wanting to declutter. Feel like trashing literally everything but for clothes and furniture and starting new. Lol. It's been a nightmare the last 2 years. There are a few cleaning services that I've looked in toalready just havent called them yet
