@beezmommy interesting, idk what your SO's background is. I'm black, I consider myself black. It doesn't make me feel small because other people see me being black as me being inadequate. That's ok to me, it's their small brain that can't compute, lol, no one can make me feel bad for being black. It's also interesting that his mom has negro written on her birth certificate 🤔

It was considered a ‘modern’ term in the early civil rights era. She was born in 59 and instead of black, it was Negro. People weren’t even allowed to self identify until 1970. 🤦🏽♀️
Also, good for you 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 for loving yourself unconditionally!!!! I can honestly say my SO seriously struggles sometimes. I’ve been hearing a lot more sadness lately. He randomly says things like “I just don’t understand why people want to kill me because I’m darker than you. I don’t understand why people hate me because of my skin.”
@beezmommy yes, I googled it, and I saw that people born even in 62 had negro written on their birth certificate! Why isn't everyone just "American"? Still trying to say African Americans aren't Americans, smh.
It took time for me to get to where I am, I realized there was a problem and a disconnect and it took time to realize that the problem wasn't me. The journey of self love is long. I get how he feels, I feel the same way, why are we targeted because of our skin color? What did we ever do? Why can't we be accepted? Smh, there are people who aren't black that aren't "good" people, how come they aren't treated poorly? I completely get it.
Maybe therapy would be good for him?

Those all lives matter people. They never say all lives matter until black people say black lives matter. Black lives matter is nkt a question, so there isn't an answer for it, there is agreement though. Yes, black people are human beings too and should be treated as human beings and be given the same rights
Because blacks are humans just like any other race. The way blacks have been treated is like blacks don’t matter. Black lives DO matter!!
Because if black lives don't matter, no one else does, either. We are only as good of a society as the most ill treated of our citizens. No one should be discriminated against, live in fear, go without food or healthcare. Period.
I think so too, a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. I wonder if America is ok with having a soft underbelly 🤔
Why the fuck not. They’re people. They shouldn’t be called black. They’re labeled as a color. We aren’t called light brown or tan people. Whites aren’t called egg-white or off-whites. The culture of dark toned humans are STILL humans. 🙏🏽
