Do anyone know people with schizophrenia have these symptoms talk to their selves And lie a lot ?
My neighbor has it and it’s slowly gotten worse since I’ve lived here. It’s gotten so bad her family is trying to take her daughter from her.
She does talk to herself a lot. She also texts me a lot because she swears she hears gunshots and saw an entire police squad on the train tracks. Most of the time it’s not true. I wouldn’t call her a liar, but she definitely has certain things set in her mind and to her they’re true.
Example: She says she has a boyfriend in Mexico who is huge in the motorcycle gangs. He’s been trying to come get her and the kid but her grandma who used to be the mayor here has her federal agent buddies stopping him by doing cruel things like putting sugar in the gas tank or having his buddies arrested. She flew down to San Diego with her daughter and waited overnight in the airport for a border patrol agent to take her over the border to him. He never showed up because he got kidnapped on the way to the airport by her grandmothers people.
Schizophrenia is a serious debilitating mental health disorder that often comes with a false sense of reality, unorganized thoughts and hallucinations. It’s not something to be played with. A combo of therapy and meds is usually necessary when it’s out of control. It’s also a very medication sensitive disorder as well. You can need a medication change due to weight loss or gain and that will make symptoms worsen too.
There are many different levels of it i have stressed induced schizophrenia. If u wanna chat u can message me
I've known older adults diagnosed with it, but it goes more latent in the older years.
Talking to themself and lying can be symptoms of a lot of things or a combination of things.
Thats what i told her in private cause so many things can trigger those behaviour
@travis9347 yeah, that term gets thrown around so easily that people just honestly don't know.
