Okay so I need some advice/help? My two year old has been giving me the hardest time at nap or bed time . Takes him over an hour to go to sleep at nap time . If he even goes because after a certain time I wont let him. Or else he won’t go to bed . But then he’s literally such a monster the rest of the day. And if he naps , he won’t go to bed at bed time . I’m struggling so bad because I know naps are important for him right now . He hasn’t napped in days and has been awful. Please send advice 😭
My son is about the same age and around 2 he simply did wanna nap. It took about a week or so but he now simply sleeps twelve hour nights with no naps. But the time he starts getting fussy its usually bed time. The other thing is my son has alot of energy so not napping helps him tire himself out throughout the day
@briannalynn547 have you tried a warm bath and bottle before naps?
@jasminev91, he’s been off of bottles since 7 months lol i switched him to cups as early as I could. But he always gets a warm bath before bed
@briannalynn547 that's good. My son only drinks milk out of a bottle it was hard enough to get him to use a sippy cup. I usually don't take him a bath during the day because he usually gets sleepy tahts why I suggested a bath before nap to help your son sleep
Yes, mine is a tired monster all day if she doesn't get her nap in. I have always tried to have a 12-3p schedule for nap. I lay my just turned 3yo daughter down and give her about 10min to try on her own, if that doesn't help, I pin her down with cuddles until she's down. Usually it goes a lot quicker when I cuddle her and she sleeps longer, but trying to get them to do it on their own is most helpful. We are outdoorsy people but have stayed indoors a lot more these past couple of months. It kept getting harder to tire her down without outside time. So I read this article about releasing energy through tickling and I've tried that and it's worked more than I thought it would. Getting them to release energy with a body moving activity gets them tired enough to try the self sleep method. But when there's no time for sun-fun or indoor jumping jacks I do resort to a tickling session. It puts her in a less resisting mood and it releases some of that stir crazy energy. I've started doing the tickling to my younger baby too and it helps him when he's been under stimulated for the morning part of the day or even at bedtime. I know tickling seems simple and crazy, but I kid you not to this day I put all of my 3kiddies down evey day. Because their nap time is also important for me to either nap with them, snack on my own, do a chore or two, or maybe just relax and plan out the rest of the day. And God bless you, hope you find something that works for you and your son.
P.S. if nap time doesn't happen, sometimes a quite time activity helps to wind down too.
Hm II’ll have to give it a try! Thank you!
@briannalynn547 ok, and how long does he nap for? We are pretty firm on nap/bed schedules, and always have been. My oldest's schedule was similar at that age. Up at 9, nap at 2, up by 4, bed by 8. I would try moving the nap back, but that's just what worked for us. ❤
@two.tiny.texans, he can nap pretty long if I let him but I try not to let it exceed 2 hours !
@briannalynn547 yeah, if he is sleeping 12 hours, a 2 hour nap is pretty much the max
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
I need some advice my babies father gets really mad when he drinks liquor. He woke me up and started a big argument about the thermostat he completely destroyed the room and choked me this is the 2nd time he has done this. I'm going to church today and I'm not sure of what to do when he starts calling and texting to talk to me because he realized he messed up. I need some advice and solutions to help the problem.
Trigger. Lost baby
Went in for my 20 week check up and found out our son had passed away. Nothing was wrong, my pregnancy has been going great. I'm so numb right now. I'll he delivering him later this week. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. Not before Christmas. How am I'm going to tell my kids?? My dear sweet baby boy. Why did this happen?
If it’s taking him an hour to fall asleep then he needs more awake time in the morning. My son is up around 6:30-7:00 am and naps at 12:30. He’s so tired. He goes to bed at 8:30/9:00. If your son is sleeping in til 9am then he probably doesn’t need a nap until 2:00. You could also try waking him up earlier in the morning.
