Well I was just informed less than two weeks before my due date that my short term disability is being denied. I won’t have any income while I’m off so it looks like I’ll only be taking a week off of work after I have her 😔

Refile and file a rebuttal with documentation from your doctor. That is nonsense!!!

nope. I’ve been there since June 8, 2018. I just got the disability and insurance started in January.

Oh man. I’m sorry. They do consider it a pre-existing condition. Your agent/benefits coordinator should have asked you that when you were signing up & explained that it wouldn’t cover your existing pregnancy.

exactly! During the enrollment I told them I was pregnant and asked would it cover it and they told me yes. That’s what pisses me off.

@loveerii Oh no! Speak to your doctor and see if by refiling it "due to complications related to childbirth" they approve it. I can see where they say pregnancy is a "preexisting condition" but the actual delivery is NOT. Once baby is born have the doctor do the paperwork again and resubmit. I'm so sorry!!
