some women just really love to mom shame. no matter how detailed of a post that you make, they’ll skip over anything except what they want to complain about and then claim to be “educating” you. 🙄 next caller

My kids doctor always has told me to start purées at 5 months no earlier than that. I wouldn’t even worry about it messing with their tummy I would be worried of a chocking hazard because they still have a tongue thrust for awhile.

@mommakaylax3, @spookylyn, i should’ve attached my post to this! sorry for no context provided haha. india has to take her creon (enzymes for digestion) with an acidic food (can’t be milk, water, cereal, etc.) or it will break down in her mouth and can cause burns/cuts, and she wouldn’t properly absorb the enzymes. so she takes a spoonful of apples/bananas to swallow the beads (like tiny little pills). all babies with cystic fibrosis have to take their enzymes this way, no matter their age. this was in my post and she refused to acknowledge it. aside from indy’s special medical needs, i totally agree with you guys. my oldest didn’t have solids until she was 9 months and we did blw!

She's not wrong though. Is that why you're mad? I didn't even think she was rude til you got defensive. She was sayin "no matter what the doctor says" as in your doctor is giving outdated advice to new mothers and maybe you should get a new one. It's really not one of those "Well I did this, or so and so did this, and their baby is fine" type of situations. When we know better, we do better.

Ok, when you have the whole post in context, it makes a LOT more sense. Yeah, she's being a jerk then. I didn't even think about how CF babies had to be medicated. I'm very sorry for my uneducated, jerk response. I only read your question and the screenshots before opening my mouth. My apologies Mama.

it’s totally okay! i was feeling heated and didn’t think about what I was posting until the comments came in and I realized y’all can’t just read my mind and I need to provide context. when it comes to non-medical reasons I completely agree with you and there are definitely too many moms who don’t educate themselves on nutrition/digestion and get defensive when corrected.

Thank you so much for explaining everything. It made a HUGE impact on my opinion. I am SO sorry I didn't ask other questions before being as asshat. I DEFINITELY see why you're frustrated Mama. I CAN'T imagine what day to day life is like for you and your precious babies, much less to add on the stress of lack of support you have. Your post and my immediate response proves you 100% right girl! We REALLY need to stop being so quick to "educate" each other and just try to be HUMAN, empathize and UNDERSTAND what someone is going through. Most times they aren't even looking for someone to fix it, they just want someone to listen....they wanna be heard. You're doing a great job Mama, and you just keep doin WHATEVER it is that is working and best for YOUR family. Again, my apologies girl.
