So I'm finally getting a haircut since maybe last Nov and I was debating on having my hair colored. I tried coloring it once or twice myself and it didn't end well...anyway I'm debating on going either blonde or red (natural looking not too crazy) or doing highlights with red or blonde. I'm now a brunette but when I was younger I was blonde (til about 13 or 14). What do ya think? I went on the Garnier (hair brand) website and did a *what's my shade* type quiz and out of 35 shades it recommended these are the 11 (the first is my natural color)
I got advice from my former hairdresser (who had done my hair from my first haircut til I moved down to VA 14mths ago) and her advice was honey dip, chestnut brown, a light nude brown and Pomegranate red
@armywife72515, yes true lol I use pravanna vivids u can never go wrong and u don’t need developer u put it straight on and they have colors for dark hair
It also depends on the price but I've never been red before but I don't mind some maintenance
If you’re not one to go in for frequent upkeep and don’t do well on your own I would skip the red. I used to do red accents a lot and love the look but it requires more maintenance.
@m.nicole.xo as I said I was blonde til 13 or 14 so blonde wouldn't be a bad idea, my eyebrows are a dirty blonde/light brown
@armywife72515 then I personally would stay light, if your gonna do red, do like a reddish brown with highlights maybe
I think I'd go with the chestnut brown if the sun doesn't naturally do it. Light enough to make a difference but not a wildly different choice
