Help me out. This is my sons hair. His anxiety has gotten bad and he will twist pieces of his hair to the point he dreads it and I’ll have to comb it out but doing that he has some hair come out. I put it up and he still finds pieces to dread up. He doesn’t sit well for braids any more but idk how to stop him from twisting his hair. Anyone have some advice on how to get him to stop.

Neverrr 😂 I will pick and comb his knots out and go to all lengths to keep it long. My sister was like oh your a good one I would have been cut it if I had to do all that.

I still do this, because my anxiety, I will knot my hair up so bad, I don't notice when I'm doing it until I'm in the bathroom trying to untangle it. It's a pain! 😅 I definitely agree with jenx, I'd try that!!
Try a fidget cube. Those help me a lot in the car.
Would he do one big braid? My husband's hair looks like that but is shoulder length and he likes one big braid when he is out mowing and stuff to keep it from being in his face. Your son's hair is gorgeous.
Could he use a fidget spinner or another tactile thing? I was a terrible hair twister (my mom had to keep my hair super short as a kid) and my daughter was one too. She has a lot of memory foam toys and things like that to keep in her hands so she doesn't do it. It helped her a lot. Squeezamals and stuff like that. We keep them all over the house. She is twirling silly putty right now while her lunch is cooking.
