My oldest, my only daughter is half mexican as well. My 2nd born is half black. My youngest two are white. The best feeling is the love in my household between them all. I am so sad that people are having to be terrified for the lives of their families. My brother is also a CHP officer, a great father and a good man. I have to worry for his safety right now as well. These times are hard.
@pie. The division in the world right now is ugly and sickening. I can't help but notice that the times are getting darker. I'm praying so hard for everyone. It is a scary world we live in.
First of all... I have ONE mixed son, and second please pin point where I was acting like a victim... I'll wait.
No where in this post was I acting like a victim, I can never be a victim when white privilege exists first and foremost. This post was a statement regarding the praying for my child who will have struggles in life because of the color of his skin regardless of how hard he works and respectful he is to authority. The truth is that a lot of these men and women who have had their lives taken from them from police who abused their power did not do anything to call for their murder. So yes, I pray differently for my son, and I will continue to. But thanks for your opinion I didn't ask for.
you haven’t, but I’m saying don’t and don’t teach him to act victimized. We teach people how to treat us. Make him demand respect from people is what I was saying.
