It’s really sad to see some of y’alls stance on what’s going on in this world today. The people you laugh it up with on here and wouldn’t even know had a racist view are now showing their true heart. I’m raising a black son and two black daughters and my heart aches for them and the bs they have to see and deal with. Some of you have an opinion on a matter but have been and are privileged. You don’t understand the depths of this. You worry about your kids and so do I. But I worry about them not being treated equally or given the same opportunity as your child. I worry that because of their skin tone and texture of their hair they could be killed, they could be tortured, they could be looked as less than. My children have to fight to have the same rights and respect as your white child. My children have to look behind their backs and survive. I want my children to live with the same freedom and rights as yours. But how? It starts with you Karen. Education and understanding. Teaching those around you to love and not hate for our differences. Standing up for what is right. Stop making these dumb ass comparisons to things that aren’t even close to the topic at hand. This man that was killed is someone’s son, brother, father. He mattered. Such a sad ass world that we live in. After decades of African Americans going through so much pain and hurt and here we are. Racism never went away. And it won’t until we all fight together. Stop turning a blind eye to it. Stop pretending it’s an isolated issue.

I had a huge eye opening experience as a white person when I first graduated college. I took a job in an inner city nursing home and 90% of the population was black. I worked there for 3 years and got to know people well. I hadn't realized how privileged my life had been until I got to making conversation with people and had the moment to realize they didn't know their family tree beyond their parents. I know mine back to the 1700s. But it smacked me in the face that these people's ancestors were stolen from their homes and their history stolen with it. I had male patients who would get very nervous if I tried to do therapy with them alone. They had lived through times when an accusation from a white woman could mean the end of their freedom or possibly their lives. It hurt my heart. I could go on and on, it was such an eye opening experience for me.

I think the best thing for people is to be around one another and get to know one another, but I see why people treated me as if I couldn't truly be trusted, because they'd had bad experiences before.

It’s so very sad this happened. It happens to white men also, but the media doesn’t show it. And sad that people are going to look at police officers differently. The bad apples ruin it for those who work hard to proudly wear the badge. All lives matter, black and white.

@boymama523, so talk about those white men when they are killed. Talking about it right now is deflecting and attempting to avoid the racism problem that people that scream “all lives matter” turn a blind eye to.

Beautifully written...it’s sad that people have to block and delete when they can’t stand the heat they themselves created. That’s why some people just need to hush

Your right. I’m a white woman married to a black man and raising biracial kids and I’m terrified for them. What happened to that man was horrific and disgusting.

Thank you. Its so sad that we (the victims) have to JUSTIFY our anger and frustration. Why are we being scrutinized and put in the hot seat. Why!?

As parents, we have to do the regular worrying that comes with parenting. Then we have to do some extra worrying because we are black, and worry an extra lil bit cuz our kids are black in this world, hmph. They don't understand because they don't care, until it's them that are dying, it will always be same bs. When it's them that's hurting, then they want pity, smh

@thatregalmujer no, it should stand. People have to take the step to open up to their deep seated prejudices and get past it. If it offends someone, they need to think good and hard about WHY it offends them. What have they been taught, how to do better. We have to look at ourselves and have uncomfortable conversations.

Starting TWW. Anyone else?

I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.

leahbeth I'm so sorry :( hopefully your cycle continues and you get another shot next month.
