What Should I Do If My Ex-Boss Lies About My Employment?
I’m so mad right now!!
So I was working at a dentist office for about 6 months, and my boss fired me at the beginning of March (he send me a txt message) I start getting unemployment on April I’m getting $75 plus 600 of the government relief... well the point is today my friend send me a picture of a letter that my ex boss it’s gonna send to the unemployment office where he said I was working for him ONLY 2 MONTHS!! plus he said he fired me because I was missing days of work.
Sooo I’m really mad cause he’s lying and because of that I can lose my unemployment and I’m pregnant I really need the money and also my friend told me the unemployment office it’s going to make me paid all the money they already give me cause they gonna think I was doing fraud so I gonna have to paid 5000!!
THIS IS SOOOO UNFAIR, idk what to do Any recommendations? My friend told me to get q lawyer and send my ex boss to court for fraud... what should I go? I’m really mad and scare:(

If you weren’t being paid under the table he would have been required to report that you working for him to the employment commission in your state. It will show the dates you worked for him.
@nathalysuarez16, keep your bank statements for proof even if u have to make an appt at your bank they’ll give u the copies ;) also I bet what your boss is trying to do is Now that businesses are open the state unemployment offices are contacting last job manager’s to see if you are working still or plan to work regardless if you go back to that old employer ,, they expect people once their state is reopened to look for work unless you find a new job and work part time hours u will still qualify for the unemployment but,depends what that old boss says too ;(
He paid me with checks, but i don’t have all the paycheck stubs, just one from January.
Did he hire you by text message? Paystubs would be helpful to prove when you were working.
@nathalysuarez16, oh ok. Did you sign any new employee paperwork? Something that would have the date? How did he pay you?
@theycallmemommy, yes when he hired me I sign every paper he give me but he didn’t give me any copies.
@nathalysuarez16, oh that sucks. I would think he could give you a copy since you signed them. Bank statements of all the deposits he paid you would help.
I didn't think you could get unemployment if you were fired?
But the employer can dispute the unemployment payments which it sounds like her ex boss is trying to do.
@lifewithlynnieandwill88 employers are taxed a higher rate if they have a lot of former employees on unemployment. It sounds like he is trying to dispute the OP's unemployment because he wants a lower tax rate.

No i don’t the last one I have it’s from January, but I have my bank statement to show all the checks I was getting from him.
@nathalysuarez16, it’s good you have those bank statements. There are ways they can track it. I would call unemployment and let them know what’s going on.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.

Am I wrong for telling my Bd that because we not Married my baby don't have to have his last name? He really got mad and told me I was project n ignorant. Crazy part is I was thinking about giving my baby his middle and last name
If he wasn't paying you cash, then you'll be fine. He paid you checks for the whole 6 months you were there? Just show the first pay stub as proof of starting, then show the text message as proof of ending. First pay stub and text message firing you will show the time you were there. Don't jump the gun, wait until unemployment contacts you.
Right now you just have "hearsay." So if your old boss, or unemployment don't contact you, don't talk to anyone about it.
