Ladies do you allow your kids to have their own tablet ? If so what kind do they have ?
I'm looking to get one for my 3 year old since he's starting to do a preschool program and he likes to watch movies and play games on my phone in the car and such.
What would u suggest, also would u get a 1 and a half year old one too, to watch movies and stuff in the car or before bed ?
Can u download Disney plus and YouTube Nd what not om it ? My oldest too, he can't sleep without a movie lol
@kaycharwy312, yes! I have Netflix, Hulu and Disney on hers. PBS kids is a great app too. I blocked YouTube but you can add that as well. I like option to block too.
My son has 2 one with YouTube and Netflix which is my old one and an amazin fire tons of books and kids apps. He has always been able to use them whenever we keep them charged and they sit at his desk. But he goes weeks without using them and then you get a day he just wants to play on one.
Amazon Kindle Fire. I use the parental controls to block access to the internet and so he can’t make in-app purchases.
My 6 and 4 year old each have a fire tablet. I have the unlimited family free time through amazon it’s like $6.99 a month and they get their age appropriate games, shows, movies, and books. The only thing I have to get is a much bigger memory disk what they have is not enough lol
We have a samsung tablet, you can download the kids mode app, put what games you want them playing in there and need a passcode to to get out so no going on the apps/internet they arent suppose to be on. And i get to use it for myself too since he cant access my stuff 😁
My kiddo has a Samsung tab something or another. We like it. I downloaded a child lock app that I can pick and choose what apps he can use and he can’t get out of it.
My kiddo has had an iPad mini and a fire tablet. We actually prefer the fire because it has the option for free time unlimited. It also allows you to set limits easier. We only do games for 10 mins a day and she can read on it for unlimited amount of time. On car trips she gets it for longer. I wouldn't suggest screen time before bed for either kiddo but especially the one year old. And I personally wouldn't get one for my one year old either. We have our kiddo one around 2.5
Why wouldn’t you suggest it before bed, genuinely curious. I let my son use it sometimes before bedtime to calm him down but now I’m second guessing it lol.
@imacat when my daughter was in early intervention she had a sleep specialist. She told me that the screen can stimulate the brain further making it harder to fall asleep and further it's a potentially unhealthy sleep crutch. The TV acts as white noise. My husband can't sleep without the tv being on.
Yes, Kindle Fire for both. I love the parental controls. She can use it all by herself, very easy to use. My daughter doesn’t use it too much thankfully. She does watch it before bed...falls asleep watching it which I think is a bad habit we started.
