3 year old sleep regression.

1. Our routines / schedule is non existent

2. He will wake up in the middle of the night and cry. Talking to him does nothing but make it worse so we’ve been letting him cry it out which sometimes lasts up to 1.5 hours.

3. He will eventually cry himself to sleep.

Anyone else’s littles do this? My oldest is 8 and I remember it happening with her but it’s been so long, I don’t remember what we did to stop it or when it stopped completely.

Yep. What @kush_queen420 described is basically the Ferber sleep method. Google it. It will help a ton. My daughter was a horrible sleeper (unfortunately still is)and this is what her sleep specialist recommended. Every she regressed I would use the method again and she would catch on within a few days. Also establish a consistent schedule before bed time kids thrive on routines.

It’s def not too late to start a good routine. What do u do for bedtime? What time is he going to bed/waking up? Does he still nap? Both my kids would wake at that age, starting around 2 years old until about 4 years old. But they would come and sneak in our room every night. What the pedi told me to do was to not let them in our bed. So we set up a little bed in the corner of our room. They would come into our room and go right to their little bed and go right back to sleep. They wouldn’t even wake us up. Now with my youngest we promised him that if he slept in his room all night for 2 straight weeks he could get a fish. He’d been asking for one for a long time and that was the reward to sleeping in his room all night. As soon as we offered that to him he started sleeping all night on there and we went out and got a fish. He hasn’t come into our room since. I know it may not work for u guys but it’s a thought. Interrupted sleep is the worst. Sounds like y guys need a good routine during the day and at bedtime. There’s so many factors that can play here. Not enough sleep, being over tired, disruption on schedule can all cause sleep issues. Good luck I know it’s frustrating but I promise it won’t last forever

Before this pandemic started, we had such a good routine down. I’ve always been so strict with it too. Since my oldest. We’d get up at 6:15. Get my oldest on the school bus at 6:30. Breakfast. Play time. Early morning errands. Nap time around 11. Oldest home at 3. Homework. Playtime outside. 6pm dinner. 7:00pm shower. 8pm bedtime.

Since the pandemic started, everything’s been out of wack. Than i had my anxiety meltdown the past couple months and it got even worse. Im trying to get us back into a routine now though. Starting today. We got up at 7:15 (he’s been getting up at 9am which messes us the time frame for the whole day) and I’m guna try to get him down for nap at our usual time since he hasn’t had an actual real nap in weeks.

Мама двоих (младенец)

My sons sleep regression started a few months ago. Started waking up multiple times a night crying. Honestly. He would wake up and crawl into our bed. Some nights we’d let him stay in bed with us. Other nights he’d cuddle for a bit and then we’d put him back into his own bed once he was ready for sleep. Lasted a couple months. But fingers crossed.....the past 2 nights he’s slept in his own bed all night without getting up.

Мама дочки (3 года), беременна (33 нед.)

Lawd yes ! This is my 3 year old. She refuses to nap also. The only thing that helps is melatonin ( peds recommend it ) and I put a baby lock on her door so she cant open it. From the inside . Hopefully x you find something to work. I need it because I'm pregnant and cant deal with a cranky girl
