That’s my sons birthday!

I orginally had a c section set with my daughter but she ended up being an emergency c section because I had severe pre eclampsia. It wasn't a bad experience but I didn't feel ready. 37 weeks

I've had 3 c sections. My first was not planned. I labored for over 20 hours and pushed before I was rushed in for a c section. My 2nd one was planned and so easy! I got my nails done the day before, I was ready and overly prepared. It went by so quickly, and everything was on time. My 3rd was also planned, but I went into labor 2 weeks before my c section date. By the time I got to the hospital I was in excruciating pain and already 6 cm. It happened very quickly. They threw scrubs at my husband and rushed me into the operating room.

I have my 4th and last C section set for July 1st

My 1st c section was an emergency

My 2nd c section was kinda of an emergency because baby was going into distress

My 3rd c section was an emergente because he ran out of space and kept forgetting to breath so the nurses had to keep shocking him to remind him

I did start labor with all of them so I’m guessing it’s more stress on your body when you have gone into labor and then you have the c section

I don’t think I had any time to let it sink in that I was about to get cut open

This time around I’m pretty aware of it and I know what my body is gonna go through

I also know how recovery is gonna be

Hopefully I don’t start labor before the c section

I legitimately have PTSD from my first unplanned C-section.

Just remember that with our first ones our bodies were already exhausted by the time we were cut open, this time your body will be ready to go. The fact that you won’t be contracting, and laboring before the C-section makes a huge difference. Your body won’t be exhausted by then.

Definitely bring a heating pad… A plug in one with an extension cord would be best. That way you don’t have to worry about re-microwaving it, and you can stretch the extension cord to another outlet just in case the ones around you are taken. The heating pad on the incision site will help draw blood to the area, promoting faster healing. And the heating pad will also help with trapped gas from the surgery.

I also highly highly recommend a belt of some sort. I will link the one that I used, and I absolutely swear by, but it is expensive.

I promise, I was absolutely terrified of having a second C-section, but it really is a total different experience.
