Yes i teach my kids the proper word i find it ridiculous when people don't teach correctly .. like the book my friend always call her daughters parts noodles thank god nothing happens to her but the minute you made ""noodles ""she did a gagging face and would say thats pasta or macaroni ... only her private was a noodle 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️ my friend said it was to vulgar to say penis or vagina like wtf seriously

My babies are 1 and 2 so for now it's private parts and boobs but once they get a tad older it will be the proper words

What's It To You?

Yes. For some reason my girls just say gina though. I do make sure they know the proper term.

We interchange penis and schmeckle (Yiddish for penis). Jacob prefers penis, TJ laughs hysterically at schmeckle

Yes, we do use the proper names as well. This is so hard when you actually come across someone that has gone through something like this 😔 it truly breaks my heart. Proper names are extremely important! Thank your for your post!

When we were growing up my mother called it our private parts. That still got the point across. My boys say penis but I think private area would work just as well.

At 4 and 2 my girls call them their "privies" they also know noone is allowed to touch them there. Only mommy and daddy when we are washing them or helping them clean themselves after using the loo. They already wash themselves in the shower with minimal help from us.

Remember something:

Knowing terminology will only help so much. Our children must also be taught about good touch, bad touch and respect for one's body. If they know what those "parts" are called but haven't had it explained that secrets are bad and noone can touch them it does them no good.
