I’m so sick of Faye jumping and standing on the couches. Daily she gets put in timeouts because of it. I just told her “Stop standing on the couch! Sit on your butt!” within a min I caught her stand up on the coffee table and leap to the couch! She’s never stood on the coffee table before, but it’s like - dude, I JUST told you to not jump on the couch and you think this is okay?!
She’s lost tv privileges. She’s lost play time outside / cut down playtime. I took away her tablet for the day yesterday, but I’m at the end of ideas.
I refuse to hit/spank so that won’t work.

To be honest when it gets to that point she may just be one that has to learn on her own. As mothers we dont want our child to get hurt but sometimes it's how they learn. If she does happen to continue to do it and get a bump explain to her that is why mommy was telling you not to do it. I had to do this with my son and he definitely listens now. Even if I have to tell him a second time I just remind him "I guess you dont remember when you got that (cut,bruise, bumped ya head, etc) from not listening" and in his mind he "oh yeah" and stops. Lol

For me (this may sound horrible, but..) its more about the quality of the furniture. She’s jumped and sat so much on certain areas, that is starting to have a permanent indention. 😂
I think I’m just out of luck.

Ugh you are stronger than me!!! Lol most days I give up but only thing I do is make them stay off. They also throw my pillows on the floor which makes me more mad than jumping on the furniture. I have seen online these at home warrior type challenges for kids and climbing on the furniture...im like NO THANKS!!!

Omg, yes!! Faye will take the couch pillows off and put her hands on them them on the floor and run fast around the kitchen & dinning room.
I’ve finally burned into her head not to use the green ones since they are my fave. But now eric is pulling them down to pile up and jump into. Ughhhhhh

Girl!!!! My 3 year olds does this too. Nothing works for him timeouts, spankings he dont listen he thinks it's a game and funny!😞😡

When mine do that they lose the privilege of sitting on the couch and must sit on the floor for 10 minutes. I've been doing that for 2 weeks. It has gotten better but its not fixed.

@jennatess timeouts and stuff never worked for this. This has helped for a few hours and then they started again but it's better than usual. Mine like to jump on it, climb on the couch backwards and lay on the back of it and that's what they get in trouble for. I also have beach chairs in the house and they sit in those as well for punishment if they start enjoying the floor which happens when they bring their blankets out

@jessicalaneee, I’ll definitely try it. Faye likes to sit with her back against the wall on the top back of the couch. So now one cushion is all smashed in from her butt. 😣
And then the jumping from one to the other. Like, stop!!!

@jennatess ugh yes! My cushions are smashed too which is why I tried implementing this seeing if it works. I want a new couch so bad but not if they're gonna destroy it
