So here I go with a stupid question

So I’ve had 3 c sections soon I’ll have my 4th and last one

My question is

Has any momma that’s had a c section been able to shower while at the hospital?

Reason I’m asking is because every time I’ve been at the hospital I’ve ask if I can shower the nurses or doctors give me an excuse

So I want to make sure this time around I’ll be ready for them not letting me shower

They let me shower day 2. I had to stay in there 3 days

I’ve had 2 and I’ve showered in the hospital both times, 12 hours after surgery. The nurses encouraged me to.

I was able to shower once I could get around.

Where do you live? I was always encouraged to shower a day or two after. I'm in Ontario and I've typically stayed 4 days and 3 nights.

Yes the nurses actually required me to take a shower. At two different hospitals. With my first, I was in so much pain that I couldn’t get up to shower for 2 days. My second was much easier and I showered the next day.

I never had a csection but my sister did. She was told a requirement for her discharge was to be able to stand and shower

Nurses never told me to shower. I dont think it was a requirement for discharge 🤷

I have had 4 csections, and have showered the day after surgery with all of them. As soon as that catheter came out, I was in the shower. I would just make it very clear to them, that you will be showering.

@craftaddictionmomof2, @tipsymermaid, @michellemybell09, @crharmer, @2sweetie, @parkers_mommy, @mommyof.1, @caffeinated.chaos, so it’s ok to shower then

My nurses and doctors would tell me no your not ready to shower

I was already walking around going to the restroom feeding my little one changing them

So I don’t understand why they wouldn’t let me shower

They would tell me to just wait till I got home

Can anyone imagine how uncomfortable it was to feel extremely dirty

It’s definitely okay to shower. Once the catheter comes out, if you’re feeling up to it you can shower. The nurses offered to help me if I needed help in the shower. I’d tell them you are going to shower, they shouldn’t be allowed to deny you that.

@xibkhadiia, don’t get me wrong

My nurses were amazing and helpful but they would just tell me that doctor said I was ready to shower
