I feel like I have no accomplishments. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. Always! I got out of high school and moved with my mom 2 hours away from where I originally am from. I was doing good in college but was so stressed about being away from my fiance. I was not happy and so depressed while he was living it up with no job and no cares.(He stayed with his mom) Keep in mind we were 18 years old. Her job played her and I had to take care of the bills. That stressed me out so bad that I dropped college after a while and never finished. My fiance moved here and we got married and got our own place by 19. We both worked and took care of the house. I went back to school and on the side started another class to become a CNA(something I really wasn't interested in.) We started to want kids so 3 years later we started our family. Once again, I am out of school and taking care of my baby while my husband worked. 2 years later had another child. I encouraged my husband to start his own business and the business took off. I'm working from home with the business and taking care of the kids. I needed to get out of the house some so I started working with the school corporation last year. In March my 8 year old brother was placed in our care. My husband slowed down business since the virus and has become a correctional officer. Here I am still not a veterinarian. Don't even want to be one anymore because I have over 5 years to become one. No accomplishments. No encouragement and 3 kids and a husband that I constantly do stuff for. I love being a mother! I love being a wife! I hate not having anything for myself. My husband just got through telling me to write down what I want to do and start at working on it. That is so easy for him to say. He got to where he is with MY help. I will not have the same from him. I know this is my fault but I have sacrificed so much for my family only to be unsatisfied with my life. My heart is really hurting right bow but I don't have time to cry because I need to clean the house and get ready for this dhs caseworker to come and grab some paperwork.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way but u do have accomplishments!! You’re a young women with a home, husband and 3 children!! That right there is your accomplishment. U have time to start working on what u really want, to be a vet. Why do u feel u won’t get help/support from your dh during schooling? He seems to be supportive with your decision based on this post. After u right down what u want, like he told u to, then write a list of what u need from him to help during this time. Make it as detailed as u can think to. Meaning what he will need to do around the house while you’re in school ya know? U can do it and it seems like he’s wanting u to take the first steps towards your goal. By him suggesting u make a list of your goals that’s the first step in him showing u he’s supportive of it! Good luck and please don’t be so hard on yourself he’s there to help u so take advantage of that

So I'm going to guess you're not even 30 yet? You have SO much time. One of my coworkers once said that the best time is to start NOW because that's the soonest you'll get it done. 🙂 I think all this virus stuff is really weighing heavy on people. Take a minute, let it all out, then head up and back into the game. You got this!

26 and thanks. I was in my feelings for a short while. I'm going to start doing things now for sure.

you're younger than me lol while I have a career, I've also had to put it on hold for kids. The way I see it is that I was always going to have kids, didnt matter when, but it was going to be a few years off my career path. 🙂

Girl, I think you are doing great. Take the first step, if u still want to be a Vet, do it!! I'm going back to school in the spring for radiology, I'm 31 & was feeling this same way, but my husband and family have been encouraging me to go back to college & I've moved to the town with the degree I want, so I have no excuses now!! I'll be here to encourage you sister❤️
What's It To You?·
It seems the only one stopping you from pursuing your dreams is you. Your husband has told you to figure out what you want to do and pursue it.
Do you feel resentment towards him? Because in the same breathe you said he's only where he is because of you and he won't help yet here he is saying to do it.
Take the steps to figure out what you want to do. Don't make up scenarios that will stop you from pursuing what you choose to do. You helped him and now he wants to help you.

I think I do. That's something I need to get over because I love my husband until death and I don't want to ever seem like I don't appreciate him. He's a great man. Sometimes I feel like he doesn't encourage me or push me toward success.
