I'm having trouble sleeping. She is a month and a half. I just keep focusing on her breathing. Last night she scared the hell out of us. I called 911 for the first time. At like 3am, she started choking like she couldn't breathe. Chunky snoty milk came out of her nose and she had gurgled coughs. She was having a hard time breathing. Barely moving. Her left eye turned red and closed up, I guess from straining.

Fire department came and said that she looked okay.

I'm going crazy. Between the normal stress of a new baby and this crap going on with Covid and lock down... Plus my boyfriend has to work doubles every day right now because their restaurant is so busy with to-go orders. I'm alone all day, and filled with anxiety 😭

Mama, my heart is with you! I am so sorry for the scare. Have this reported to her pediatrician and see what they advise you. In the meantime roll up two towels, and place them just about 8" apart. Cover with a swaddling blanket. Press the blanket down in the middle and tuck it in under the towels on the outside to make a little nest for her. Elevate it just a little not enough to make her unsafe but just enough to keep her from being completely flat. Always out her on her back and never leave her unattended in this, but it can help with any reflux she may be experiencing. This is one of the tricks I learned from our local PICU when my DD was a baby. She had a bad case of GERD and couldn't sleep flat until she was much older. I hope your sweet baby is ok. Make sure to take care of yourself, too. Hugs.. if she is ever having an episode like that again turn her over on your lap or roll her on her side and hold her until she is done. This will help the fluid come out of her mouth so she doesn't aspirate.

Thank you, I will try that with the towels. Her doctor gave us some Famotidine at the beginning of the month to try her on since she thought she might have some issues. Her dad has a bunch of gastro problems, I don't know if any of those might be hereditary.

@kyralaurana You're welcome dear! Another thing that really helped us was that when nursing I would stop her mid feed and burp her let her eat, stop burp, and continue letting her eat, stopping, burping until she had had enough. If daddy gave her a bottle we stopped her after every ounce and burped. Then at the end of the feed we burped her again and kept her upright for 15-20 minutes BEFORE putting her down and always kept her slightly elevated. That nest idea I shared with you worked for us and was a great help! Hope she feels better soon and that you get answers and peace of mind quickly. Hugs!!!

I'm driving myself. I have just decided when I'm in labor and have to go to the hospital. I will be the one driving that hour and a half to get there. I think my husband would freak out too much bless his heart and he is at work all day anyway. And my grandma.... Heck no. Everyone complains I drive like crazy. I'm actually super safe. No one has rode with her. I love the woman but she drives like a lunatic. I seriously am scared to death she will wreck one day. And even more when I'm in the car with her. Not to mention she doesn't do well under pressure or if emotions are high. And I would have to be the one telling her where to go and to stop going 90 mph anyway. Id rather be more focused on breathing than if I am going to survive the drive to the hospital or not. So it's decided. I'm driving myself.

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page

!!!!LABOR STORY!!!! Saturday at 1AM, lost my mucus plug/bloody show, and I was freaking out! A couple of hours later I had cramping, but felt like BH just a little stronger. They came and went, but felt stronger with each hour. Didn't sleep that whole night! I called the midwife at my hospital and told her I lost it and was having really bad cramping and she told me I was fine and was prob just having BH contractions. The next day I was having what I thought were strong BH contractions every 10-15 mins, but the new City Target had opened across the st from my MiL house in Fenway, (go Red Sox! ⚾ ) and I had to coupon (it is a big coupon week!) so, I went to Target and couponed, hurled over in pain every 10 minutes, coupons in hand 😂😂😢 Went home, contractions were really intense and came every 3-4mins, so around 3am I called the hospital again and said I'm having really bad pains, and I can barely walk. They take my breath away and I think I'm in labor. Again, she said I would be screaming and unable to be so "chatty" if I was in labor, and to stay home and go to sleep. Obviously I couldn't sleep with these killer contractions every 2-3 mins now! Monday morning, July 27 contractions were now every 1-2 minutes, intense like someone was rilling out my insides, I tried rocking on the glider in the nursery, tried soaking in the bathtub, but I was in tears from the pain and from lack of sleep for two nights now, so I told hubby if these aren't labor pains I'm not waiting until I'm actually in labor. Let's to go the hospital and get the Epidural (my plan was to go natural) and he's like ok let's go. Arrived at the hospital around 10:15, got admitted, sat around moaning while the nurses told me relax, you'll catch your breath, we will get you a room in a minute. Meanwhile I'm in a wheelchair doubled over barely able to breathe. I thought I was going to pass out from the pain! Got into a room, they listened to baby's heartbeat, and midwife came in to check for dilation. "Oh my god I don't even feel much cervix. You're 9cm dilated honey let's go push!" I almost passed out at that point! I told her I can't do this it hurts soooo bad. But we got into a room, I pushed for the longest ten minutes of my life and out he came! I tore and got stitches, but not from end to end thank god. Still sore and uterus is cramping but everything else is going well. Breastfeeding is so hard! We will get there though! Third night of no sleep so don't mind the bags under my eyes hahaha And yes I am going to hunt down that darn midwife who told me to stay at home cuz I was fine and not in labor! Smh I had a CVS coupon trip planned for yesterday, but I'll take Ezra any day! So glad I pulled through with my plan though. It feels so empowering! Not saying next time I'd do it again 😂😂😂
