I’m not sure why I expected my mother to remember my birthday. Honestly though, did she forget? Bc how do you forget the birthdate of your child, especially your firstborn? 🙄 We have a terrrrrible relationship but not once have I gone without wishing her a happy Mother’s Day and happy birthday. Because no matter what, she is still my mother. Can’t say it doesn’t hurt to feel rejected but I’ve gotten to the point where I just say “ouch” and move on 🤷🏻♀️
Other than that, it’s been a GREAT bday! Here’s to 25! ☺️

It took me having children of my own to realize just how messed up she was. I feel sorry for her.
You’re absolutely right. I’m not gonna play her little game. And usually, I do good living with the fact that the mother I want and need doesn’t exist. But it’s important days like today that still sting. However, one day I won’t care at all. I’ll get there eventually.

@mommaofjais I'm not gonna lie, it still stings me when I see a mom/daughter bond. I adore my kids and couldnt imagine doing what was done to me or calling them names.. My husband saw how I was done with her so luckily we're on the same page and dont need her toxic nature around us or in our space. I wish I had a decent mother though but I'm a realist. She's not that person. We're better off without them girl. And I always say, being "raised" by her showed me exactly what not to do as a mom. We will never treat our kids like we was treated. 🌼❤
