Any tips potty training boys if it’s any different to girls at first? Charlie’s done a wee or two on the toilet but I have a potty arriving today at last , where would it be best to put it bathroom, play room? Do I keep the nappy off , so many wonders!
For a while now Charlie has been taking his nappy off when he’s done a wee and especially a poo he will take it off straight away , last night he done a wee on the potty before bed and this morning we are starting this process properly, he’s currently running around nude with the potty in sight so fingers crossed we get some progress over the weeks coming , Thankyou xx
@erincharlieconor, always worth trying I think. He might take to it right away xx
We began potty training after struggling to get hold of nappies for noah, and he would be asking for his nappy to be changed because of a very small wee in it.
We have tried on other occasions but due to life, going out, school runs it was abit of a pain! Couldn't just be nappy less and free all day kind of thing.
Since this lock down began we just let him be free, and asked about the potty every half hour or so. Talking about where we go when we need the toilet, and bribery with little choccie buttons.
Weve had a few poo & wee accidents since but his got there so much quicker then my lg who was 3 before she would even try to go on the potty and was still a fight. This is noah the one that is an absolute rascal! Lol. X
But this being said don't push it and try and follow his lead, he will be ready whenever he is ready they say xx
I kept Ollie Nappie off and we had a set place for his potty if we was upstairs it would be in the bathroom and then when down stairs (although we have a downstairs toilet) I kept it again the wall (open plan living room and kitchen)
Just keep asking every couple of minutes and every time they drink if they need a wee xx
When my LO was 18 months I put a potty in the bathroom and 1 downstairs and started taking him the loo with me so he got used to the idea that you have to go somewhere to do your business. He would sit and play with his potty, we bought potty picture books then at about 20 months we started to leave him naked wait down and he did a wee. But then he didnt for a few more months and now at 24 months he teguarly runs to the potty to wee but he still cant figure how to pull clothes down so we still go naked waist down in the morning
When I started training Mckenzie no nappy, and I put it at bottom of stairs at first then when he was more comfortable and knew he could hold it tha little longer I’d move it into the bathroom but by then I bought a seat to go on the toilet and he used tha and then within a blink he was standing and weeing like daddy as he says haha xxx
Oh bless him how long altogether did it take roughly? We’ve got a little seat thing so il save that for a later date. Going to start properly tomorrow, can he reach or has he got something to stand on? Xx
Hamish wasn’t ready at 2.5 we tried for six weeks with pee and poo everywhere! We tried again when he just turned three I put a paw patrol potty in the bathroom and he took to pees eighth away, three poop accidents and he decided he didn’t like it so overall done in 1 week, night time his pull up was dry so we just tried him and one accident but nothing since. I just always remind him to tuck it in. So I would say don’t push too hard if he’s not getting it, all comes in their own time
