My grandpa passed away the end of January. And it’s honestly something I just feel like the hurt will never go away . I think about him and his last day’s multiple times a day. It’s like ptsd I like see it in my head . It really sucks missing someone so much and not being able to do anything about it. Truly the best man I’ll ever know and I just wish he didn’t leave so soon 😫😓

Unfortunately when you lose a love one the pain will always be there
I lost my dad 3 years ago and it feels like it was yesterday
I’ve learned to keep his memory alive for my kids
I’m not gonna lie
When I talk about him I do hold back my tears
Whenever I hear a song he liked or a son he dedicated to me I do break down
We didn’t have the perfect relationship but I tried to make the best of it
I was with him till his last breath so I’m at peace with that
I know I did everything I could for him

@briannalynn547, I know exactly what you mean
I gave up my job and everything to stay with my dad
His whole family turned their back on him
And even though he treated me like crap I couldn’t leave him alone
All of his clothes and stuff we gave them to my oldest son because my dad raised him as his own
My 4yr old was 3 months when my dad passed but we talk about his tata every day
Unfortunately my 2yr old didn’t meat my dad but we still show him pictures and videos so he can know who his tata was
I wish I could tell you that the pain goes away but it doesn’t
You just learn how to live with it and cope with it your way
Unfortunately my daughter will never meet my dad but I’ll continue to talk about him like if he was here so they can know him that way

The hard thing about grief, it doesn’t go away. You can go through all the steps, take a step back, jump forward, go through all the stages and it’ll still be there.
I lost my grandmother coming on 16 years ago, from cancer. I was there for multiple hospital stays, 911 calls, when she gave up, when she decided to keep trying, and when she took her last breath. You don’t move on from it and the hard reality is, you never get over it. With time, it just gets a little bit easier to go on with your day WITH it still there. I still cry every year on her birthday, her anniversary from when she went to heaven, but it’s been easier since becoming a mom to talk About her. My children never got to meet her but they know exactly who she was from pictures and in their hearts..

That’s my goal ❤️ I plan to make a memorial in a way for him in my house on this one wall with some medals he gave us before he passed and pictures of him. He was the best man I’ll ever know .
