Do you make your kids eat what you cooked or do you give in and let them have what they want?
Eat or starve 🤷🏼♀️ can’t be picky when it comes down to it we might be hunting soon 😂
Eat what I cook . Sometimes i won’t give him certain parts of the meal if I feel like it’s something i don’t want him having just yet but . I give him everything . He doesn’t get snacks until his plates clean. I save the meal if he didn’t finish for if he’s hungry again that night
Depends on how much emotional strength and willpower I have that day 😂
Literally two weeks ago I was over it and let them both have chips and coleslaw for dinner. Weird mixture but that’s what they wanted and I did not want to argue. 😂
They eat what I cook 99% of the time.
But like tonight I made a super spicy soy- Chorizo, so I made her a quesadilla and only put a little bit of the soyrizo on the side.
But she’s a very good eater so I’ve never had any major issues.
I have a feeling my son will be the pickier one.
My 4 year old used to be good with eating her food but now she’s been extremely picky. My almost two year old is kind of following her anything her big sister doesn’t want to eat she doesn’t want either. My husband has been given and allowing them to eat cereal for two nights in a row and it’s really annoying me.
@alicianoelle32, it’s such a battle.
If you have Instagram, I highly recommend following and checking out KidsEatInColor .
They have awesome tips and tricks.
I know that having her help you cook, while a little annoying when you just want to get it done, will help her in the long run.
I have also found that letting her scoop her own servings of each item helps.
Don’t be annoyed if she only goes for one thing… If she wants to fill her plate with the least nutritional item, let her. Don’t say anything.
After a few days of doing this, you will see that she will tend to serve herself a larger variety of foods.
That Instagram page has a lot of helpful information, but those two things really change the game for us.
Like the first night I let her serve herself, she only got a lot of noodles… No vegetables, and no fish. But then that all changed on night two. I didn’t think it’d help so fast, but it did.
I would like to add you need to stop the behavior now. If you give in it will make it harder in the long run...no joke a kid in a fourth grade class had heart problems because he was obese. He was out of school for like 3 months straight when he was sick. He ONLY pizza..that's it. Healthy eating habits start while they're young.
My son eats what I cook, but I have to make adjustments with my daughter or she won't eat. Makes it harder, especially with limited food.
Eat what I cook with minor adjustments like I will give her something with out the spice and have ours with spice.
They eat what I cook. I was raised that way. We aren’t rich..and even if we were, you eat what I cook.
They eat what I cook. I will say that sometimes I'll alter it for my daughter though. Like I leave off sauce I know she won't like or skip potatoes because she hates them but she gets what I'm cooking basically unless she's sick
I feel the same way! My husband though.... he’s the problem. Anytime they cry about eating something here he is making them what they want.
They eat what I cook. The recession is coming you won’t have a choice soon
What would you do with $25,000
If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?
What do YOU judge
Clearly, no one is a perfect parent nor do we know everything. But what’s something you judge a parent off of or just irks you?
starbucks
What do you get?
First pregnancy symptom
Do you know what the very first pregnancy symptom you ever had was? That actually convinced you that you were pregnant.
What do you guys think of cloth diapers?
I have always asked her for input when I can and let her help with little tasks to create "buy in". Kids like to feel they have some choice and like to eat what they make. Like I made chicken the other night and asked her if she wanted pesto rosso or stir fry. I could go either way, but she wanted pesto. It was no biggie to me. She is a fabulous eater. She will eat sardines, any beans you give her, any veggie, you name it, she will try it.
