So for potty training. Diaperless isn't really an option, 90% of my place is carpet and I rent not own. Upstairs is definitely off limits diaperless as it's all carpet and unfortunately upstairs is where he wants to spend all his time, he hates the cold dark basement. It's not the extra cleaning thats a hassle, I just don't have thousands of dollars to replace all the carpet from multiple accidents. My parents watch him sometimes when I need to do grocery runs etc but they won't help with potty training so whenever I'm gone I feel like all my efforts are just erased. I can't decide if he's ready or not, I know people say kids tell you but that means nothing to me, he knows what pee, poop and diapers are and what his potty is, I can get him to sit on the potty on his own. But he hasn't figured out to tell me when he has to go to the washroom. I almost got him to poop on the potty once, I haven't gotten him to pee on the potty yet, I've only tried a few times though. I don't want to hear about your perfect kids who were accident free in 3 days. I want to hear from people who are struggling too. Also I can tell teaching him to pee is going to be harder than poo.
