So a month ago we got a beautiful kitty, and my daughter have been over the moon with her🙄 but she got the bad habit of playing with her all the time, she just wanna touch her, squish her, run with her and all that, the Poor cat is already stress out she just wanna be alone and take naps and my daughter keeps playing with her, the Poor cat can’t even eat or use the her box without having my daughter all around her... I don’t know what to do anymore everytime I try to tell her it’s not ok to be touching the cat all the time she just cry’s and cry’s🙄🙄 my husband already told me if my daughter continue with this behavior we will have to give the kitty away specially for the kitty’s safe.

This is where a cat tree becomes a good friend. That way the cat has a way to still be in the room but get that space higher up away from your daughter that it needs to relax as well. They’re great for scratching posts too. I had 2-3 in my apartment when I had cats. Two were home made even. Something to think about so both can learn to co-exist together.

@dragontrainer1, @scream.queen, @fairykarmamomma, @ss3mom, @bodybycheetos, thank you everyone! The cat has her own room (the bathroom) since my daughters potty is outside we figure it out that the restroom is the perfect room for her, she has her food, water and box inside lol but my daughter keeps opening the door to play with her 🙄 I’m trying to teach her how to behave with a new pet, and the kitty is a torbie(the breed) so she loves kids my Poor cat keeps trying so hard to co exist with my daughter but she gets tired😫 let’s see if I can teach both of them how to get together without killing each other.

It takes time to teach a new pet and kids to behave around each other and live life. I second a cat tree and the Kitty's own space. Also just constant reminders to your daughter that the cat needs space and not to pester it.

I agree with everyone else here. Giving the cat her own space to eat and use the litter box. Also get some good cat toys that your daughter can play worh with the cat. Like those wands that have toys on the end. That way she’s playing with the cat but not all over her

Put the cats food and water and litter box in a separate room away from her to give kitty some time alone.

Just an idea have a space or room you can gate or shut the door even add a kitty door and the cat can escape to hide and take a break but your little cant get to.
