Venting!! I’m probably going to have to cancel my baby girls birthday party cuz No one wants to come cuz they are…

I cancelled my daughters, because I don’t want to put my family or anyone at risk. Plus do you really want people around your family who are going out and being careless and that could possibly be infected?.

This may offend people, but just stating facts. America is becoming the epicentre of the virus and this is exactly why. Any parties over here in Australia are banned. Any parties will incur a fine of up to $20,000. This includes house parties, birthdays etc. There are no gatherings now of more than 2 people except for immediate family in tour house hold. If people took this virus more seriously and practiced social distancing, we might actually have a chance at going back to a sense of normality by the end of the year. It's not a time for birthday parties, it's not a time for social gatherings. Unless your needing essentials from the supermarket or medical care, no one should be leaving their homes period.

I understand your pissed that they can go out, but not come to the birthday but that's on them, going the wrong thing. My son is 2 on Friday and we aren't doing anything. We will have some cake and his presents, just us. It sucks but it's how life is right now. For everyone.

I wouldn’t want them around my kid anyway if they’re still going out and not listening to the MANDATORY SHELTER IN PLACE. That just means they’re risking getting infected or they could already be infected and then they bring it to you guys? That’s a no go for me. I get it sucks but at this point let them do them and just know your baby is going to be safe and healthy and this will hopefully be over soon and these birthdays can just be postponed...I’m already prepared for my daughters first bday to be canceled and she was born in August but at this rate I see this going out that far.

My husband's birthday is the 31st our 10 year anniversary is the day after that, and the day after that is my birthday. That's 3 days straight of big occasions and guess what we're doing??? We're staying home

You definitely don’t want people coming over that have been out in public that much. Your daughter is young and you don’t have to do a lot to celebrate. You can still decorate, make a cake and wrap a few gifts. Kids don’t need a party every year. A lot of people are making sacrifices this year. My husband’s birthday is April 2 and my son’s April 14. I’m going to make them each a cake and get them a gift to open. Obviously we wanted to do more but something is better than nothing.

You shouldn't worry about what others are doing and if you are tell them to stay TF home. You can always throw a party late I promise you she won't even remember! Stay safe

There is many things you can do to make your child’s birthday special without having friends and family over. Trust me.

I had to break my little girls heart yesterday because we couldn’t have a party! But I made the best day I could out of this situation. We had a call with my mom, sister and niece while we sang happy birthday. Made cupcakes and I tried to get her what she asked for. It turned out amazing. And she’s still talking about how great her birthday was.

We had to skip our traditional zoo trip and cancel the party. This is a crazy time. Protecting ourselves and families are the number one priority.

The people going out and partying are being reckless and you don’t need that kind of person around your family.

I hope your daughter has an awesome birthday and you can enjoy it too.

You should be canceling the party regardless if people agreed to show up or not. You can still put up all the decorations and make it a special day for her.

I had to cancel my son’s birthday party on the 14th. It broke my heart, but I couldn’t take the risk.

I wouldn't be hosting a birthday party in the 1st place so u wouldnt need to get upset in the end. The virus has been out for longer than a couple weeks and it's been serious for almost a month now so planning a party in the 1st place and getting upset about it right now today being a lockdown is quite silly in my opinion. Not saying Ur silly or being mean but in the end it's people who are not following rules and hosting parties and get together who are spreading the virus. 🤷‍♀️

A friend of mine who works in a hospital just outside of New York told me yesterday that kids 5 and older are being admitted with covid-19 ALONE.

And they are warning people that it could change at anytime and it be that any baby or child at any age will be admitted alone.

It’s only the beginning, it’s going to get worse. According to the numbers out of Russia, China, and Italy… We are just about to see a wave of more cases.

At any second, one of our children could be admitted alone without us. That breaks my heart to think about.

My son turns one on Thursday, and I made sure to cancel the party. Yes. It’s so sad, but it’s so worth it.

Those people who are still going out drinking, and hanging out with others… They will regret it. You’re doing the smart thing by canceling.
