Does anyone else have a problem with their kid throwing a major fit over wanting to vacuum. My daughter had a complete meltdown over it she is currently vacuuming now hahah
Each of my girls started very early also! 15 or so months respectively! It's amazing how capable they are if we allow them to help!
@xryztalroze, yes my kids love cleaning!! Unless I ask them to or it’s picking up after themselves 😂😂🤦♀️
But my youngest will pick up everything and put it where it goes and I mean dishes/sippy cups, clothes laying around, toys, books and he is only 2 he really started around 13/14 months it really is amazing watching them grow and figure things out ❤️
She is obsessed with helping me do the laundry, dishes and vacuuming but when it comes to picking up her toys she tells me there’s too many and doesn’t want to help lol.
I can relate. Here is how I get around this to encourage her to pick up:
When we do the dishes, she washes, and I make sure the water is still as hot as I would use myself(we hand wash). She stands on a stool and washes while I rinse, sponge in hand and soap right there, in case she misses anything. I catch the "still dirty" dishes so we don't have to rewash everything like I did in the beginning. Less waste of water, time, soap, money, patience, etc. She would get frustrated seeing me rewash and it would upset us both. By the new method we are building our relationship, spending quality time together, while being productive (and she is learning so much) so we can move on to other tasks and fun things for the day.
As for her toys, she and her sister do help, and I require them to pick up their own messes, but especially their toys and room.
She will ask me to help her clean up and I will explain why it is important for her to pick up and that it makes me proud for her to be responsible. She is gaining confidence and yet still wants me to help her so I will sit in her room and verbally direct her while encouraging her positive behavior and calling out her negative behavior by telling her what she can do better. I also make sure her baby sister is helping. The baby is quite capable of following instructions and picking up the messes she makes. Together we are all learning daily and growing stronger as a family. I hope this helps you with your DD. Have a blessed night!
My girls(4 and almost 2) have both done this and so after the first time with each I have simply made it one of their daily chores. I have two vacuums so they don't have to fight. One is an upright and the other one has the long hose attachment. If the baby is in a playful mood she will actually sit on the upright and I will vacuum while her sister uses the other one and we clean together. Embrace your little one's desire to help. It will make teaching her to do things so much easier and help avoid some of the "I don't want to" moments later. Have a blessed day!
My kids 😂😂 my oldest has been vacuuming since he could walk even before lol
