Okay. Now I'm panicked. Which I say a lot. But..now my anxiety is making it 10x worse. So non essential companies are supposed to close, send employees home until this is cleared by 8pm tonight. Hubby's company is trying to find out with their lawyers if their company is essential or not. They make windows. For major companies. They have asked before and we're denied being "essential". So most likely they will be denied again. So they told employees if this is the case, they must use vacation hours before going for unemployment. We are a one income family. We only survive bc of his job and his little side jobs combined. We get snap, but not very much. We have money set aside from taxes, so that'll carry us a bit....but im....really afraid. Maybe I'm over exaggerating. But this is how I feel

Due to the state of emergency I don’t think they can make them use their vacation hours. Unemployment is temporary for right now because of COVID-19

@allyzmommyxlw, I really hope you guys get it figured out!! You need that for when baby comes!! Especially since the president is telling people to file for temp unemployment until we aren’t on lock down anymore.

Take a deep breath. You are totally justified in feeling worried. My understanding is that they are aiming to fast track unemployment benefits right now. You now file immediately after your paid time ends. They are also making other options Available such as standby which means you can receive benefits for a time while maintaining contact with your current employer as long as it is expected that you will be returning to that job within a set period of time. While it’s hard to count on anything until you see it, you may also receive a stimulus check in the near future that could help a little.

It's just so scary. And confusing. That's the worst part. Is hearing all of these things we may or not qualify for. The what ifs, maybes and then they tell us we can't even do anything untill its official. Which the lawyers are struggling to get an answer

@allyzmommyxlw, It sure is. There are no winning scenarios in this whole thing. All you can do is try your best to keep your cool for those boys during such a scary time. It’s hard to put any faith in the government. I totally get that. Most companies for things like internet, electric, gas etc are not going to be disconnecting during this time so if you have limited funds maybe look into your local providers’ policies for those things hold off on paying them if you need to for the time being.

Have him file for unemployment right away if denied again. Try your best to relax.

The company was denied for being essential before. They are waiting for an answer to see if that's still the case. If they arnt an essential company then people can file for unemployment. BUT the company is trying to make it so you have to use vacation hours before unemployment. Which isn't fair I think. We were going to use them for when the baby got here.

Right I’m panicking! My husband is a security guard at a bank and he goes through a different company to work for the bank, they said banks stay open but I’m not sure if his company that works for the business is essential or not

So My coworker does not get vaccinated for anything due to religious practices and she’s worried about our job making it mandatory since they discussed it earlier this week. It’s crazy how when vaccines even started or came about we were told it would be voluntary but now it’s mandatory and people need a verification card to go certain places. We even have certain states doing lottery drawings just to make people get it. people shouldn’t fear losing their jobs or having to go against their religious beliefs when we were told it was voluntary. I think this is wrong that companies are doing this.
