Schools in my state is closing for 2 weeks. &’ My sister in law just got a message from the school district that my nephews go to saying to prepare for school closures that may last a month. Like can our bills also be put on halt. 😭
@rndmshtt, yes, my husband works but i’m always home so it wouldn’t be a problem.
My county in Ky has closed schools starting Monday & will be out for 5 weeks! They plan on sending kids home with chrome books to do their work on.
I'm in hardin Co KY
They haven't closed schools yet but they said it'll be less than. 3 day notice to earn parents to be ready. As little as 5 days-20 days of closure.
@raisinglittlegamers, At least theyre giving you guys a notice to prepare!
Yeah can we like get food assistance
Do you know how much my kids eat when they are home all day 😂😂😂?
KY hasn't decided to close schools yet but won't surprise me. They already closed over the flu/strept and 5ths disease outbreak
@raisinglittlegamers, Ohhhhhh shoot we do too 😂 got a big ol’ pack from costco. Like sorry kids but we will have to eat processed foods. LOl! which im sure they dont mind 😂
@raisinglittlegamers, goodluck to you mamas! hope you and your family ride this out without going hungry and still able to keep a roof over your head 🙏
@rndmshtt
I'm a SAHM so it won't affect me. My husband doesn't work with people face to face. Not really. Occasionally to get money for his work 😂.
I’m assuming that if schools are closed, daycares would be too? What in the hell are working parents supposed to do? There are only certain kinds of jobs that you can work from home... If a parent stays home with their child for 2-4 weeks, they would probably lose their job.
Thats exactly what worries me. My company is allowing us to take leave for as long as we have to take care of our kids but we must exhaust all our vacation and sick hours, and if we have none we would not be paid.
Most companies will work with people effected by this. I've been getting emails left and right from my credit card companies, car insurance, and mortgage company to call if were affected to work something out. This usually happens to us in florida with major hurricanes, when Irma hit we didnt have to pay any bills for 2 months and there was no penalty
I wonder if companies here in washington will do the same. I have never dealt with this
@rndmshtt I heard on the news today that most companies should. Cant say they all will but I know it will be pushed
Wow with are parents going to do. My husband is working from home and I'm a sahm so we'll be fine. Parents that weren't prepared for this though and HAVE to go to work and rely on the school to be open. WTH are they going to do.
Yeah my husband was bummed they didn't get to do his first final presentation this semester because of closures too. All kinds of stuff is shutting down for a bit. We even got an email that some of the Starbucks in our state are shutting their doors too. It would be so helpful if they paused the bills too!
i just got a letter this morning from the superintendent explaining what they’re preparing for & that they’ll be using act 80days & snow days if they need to close down & then push school further into June which i don’t wanna see happen. they’re talking about cancelling field trips which i KNEW was coming so i know my oldest is about to be extra mad cause she’s supposed to go to the zoo in May & i’m sure by then it will be cancelled if school isn’t shut down. word has it there’s a case literally right here in my town but cdc is waiting for the test to confirm it so it hasn’t been broadcasted yet which means it’s definitely coming. or is here.
