Really struggling getting antibiotic into Charlie..... Ive tried bribery ive tried distracting him…

Sounds horrible but the only way I managed to get any type of meds down the kids was to squish their face and then quickly do it then tilt their head up so they don’t spit it out

Are you able to mix it with anything like a yoghurt or hide it in meals/ drinks at all?

Maybe give him the syringe and let him take the medicine on his own Xx

The paramedics once put some meds in a little cup of lemonade for Charlie, little by little. Not the best idea but it did the job, I wouldn’t do it for calpol but for something important like antibiotics, is worth trying anything!

I had this nightmare with adam he just kept spitting it out but would take at least 2.5ml out of the 5ml so little is better than nothing.. If you can't find another way then wrap a towel around him so his arms aren't free and literally put the syringe to the side of his cheek and little by little when it's in his mouth hold his jaw from the bottom n blow on his face it will make him swollow not very nice to do this to your child but after a few days with adam he finally realised it wasn't worth it n just tuck it without a fight. Hope you can get it down him 🙏 and he gets better soon xx

Same as @tam96, I have to do this is Hamish has antibiotics. I rarely give him calpol or brufen because I think it’s traumatic enough pinning him for antibiotics as they are actually needed
