I’ve been having the hardest time keeping things clean and organized. I think it’s mostly due to my depression it’s been bad lately. Made myself a cleaning checklist so let’s see if that helps me out some.

Me too!! I’m terrible at keeping my home clean and organized. I do the bare minimum so that it’s not actually “nasty” but I just can’t ever get the motivation to actually keep it really nice and neat. I make lists constantly but they usually just sit on my counter until I finally throw them away 🙄 I’ve found a few tricks the last few weeks tho to kind of help a little. I set a time on my phone for 25 mins with each task I’m trying to complete. Like I did dishes this morning but only 25 mins worth. If I finished and the timer hadn’t went off yet then I stop it and reset it and start the next task. If I wasn’t done when it went off I’d still reset it but I’d move onto something else like gathering the trash or laundry or something so that I’m not just stuck on one task forever and losing motivation to do other things. I also only focus on the small stuff first like I’ll get a basket for random items and a trash bag and just go through the whole house. Anything that is in the wrong place goes in the basket so I can go through it later and put stuff where it belongs and anything that’s old, broke, etc. goes in the trash bag lol. Sorry if this is long but I know exactly how it feels to have a hard time with something that everyone else seems to have “figured out” so I thought I’d share some of my little tricks I’ve discovered recently 😅

Thanks. Makes me feel a little better that I’m not the only one. The timer actually sounds like a great idea. I tend to be cleaning and idk if I’m zoning out or want but I’ll be a hour later and i haven’t gotten anything done.

@kesh-kesh, you’re very welcome! And you’re definitely not alone! I have severe anxiety and depression and when I’m having a hard time dealing with them I lose control of my house which in return makes my anxiety and depression worse 🙄 it’s a vicious cycle lol. The timer is definitely my favorite little tip for sure cause even if you only get that one task done, you still finished 25 minutes of work!
