Sorry for this being the second post in 2 hours !😂 but does anyone know if you can request to be induced ?? As I had a growth scan today at 38+4 and he’s dropped quite a lot and only put on 2oz in 2 weeks! They are on about possibly inducing me next Thursday or next Sunday (my due date) but I’m getting too stressed with all this so didn’t know if they would do it earlier

Yeah I didn’t bother asking in the end, he’s still really active in there :) but they have already told me I will be induced if he isn’t here before my due date 😣

No!! Dont do it!! Let the baby come when they are ready or nearest to it. Dont get stressed, all the time baby in ur belly they are safe. If its get that bad for you try keep ur mind off of it or try the old wives tales to try get things moving
@tashacoombes89, but like, if I ask my midwife tomorrow to be induced soon, would she say no? Like am I allowed the option? And aww!!! I’m glad :D
Yeah I completely get that! But I am nearly 39 weeks ! So hopefully they might do it ;/ if I let her know that I really am worried ?:/
@ellie.case1234 tell her that ur stressed, cant eat. It's making u sick with worry. Put it on a bit. They might do it if its putting both of u at risk.
You can ask but they won’t say yes! Usually you get induced for medical reasons only xx
I requested an induction with my 4th but only because baby was getting big and they didn't want me to be overdue like my 3rd pregnancy. My 3rd was born really big and was stuck for a bit so they induced me to prevent that happening xx
Why would you want to be induced?
They wont induce unless medically necessary x
@ellie.case1234, this may sound weird but if you can, eat ice cream! Indulge yourself with some Ben and Jerry's. I ate Ben & Jerrys almost every night from 36 weeks when i was pregnant with baby number 3 and i am sure thats why he was born 10lbs 😂
When they induced u does it hurt?? And what do they do to induced u? I just wanna know that's all. 🤔🤔😐

Got good news : I dilated to 2-3 cm & Bad news : they won't induce me until next Friday 😞😞😞 I just want to cry
Can’t see how your midwife would have the say on whether your induced or not. They wouldn’t have the authority to do that. Surely u would be re-scanned and seen by a consultant who would make the decision based on the scan. Also, a scan isn’t 100% accurate on size or weight. Being induced isn’t the easy route either. Your better to wait until the baby is ready to come.
