My doctor said language usually explodes around 18 months. We just kept encouraging our son and praising him every time he said something even if it's wrong lol and now he is very eager to repeat words and try to use them.
@expectinggreatness my son just started really "talking" a month ago and he's on a roll. Every day I hear him say new words. He doesnt make sentences yet but he will say things in succession. He'll say his name and point to a chair and say "up" for example. 😊
Hes fine bby dnt worry to much kids go at their own pace my kid started talkin by 2 nd then went mute for a whole yr i thought i had to take him to a speach therapy... some have there own ways but asling as they are tryina speak nd sayin basic mama dada ect hes fine
Ok thanks. My son babbles and says a couple words , but I read an article that said by 17 months they should be using 35-200 words and if not they may be a late talker . He has his next appt at 18 months but wanted to check to see what the norm was and if that article was accurate.
@expectinggreatness, honestly I feel like as long as he’s saying some words and understanding what’s your saying also then he’s okay 👌 especially since he not two yet some kids are super fast talkers and some are okay talkers then some take awhile to talk but eventually they just start talking like crazy.
My oldest ddnt start fully talking until almost 2 ..if they are trying to talk they will eventually get it nd talk more clear then the usual babble words
