they won’t discharge me tonight because i’m 17 and i’m really disappointed i was hoping to sleep in my own bed one night before my dad and grandma arrive (visiting from oregon) also i’m not sure what me being 17 has to do with anything. I’ll still be 17 tomorrow. my OB said it was fine for me to leave but didn’t write up discharge papers only wrote it in the visit summary so the nurses called the on call OB and he wouldn’t approve it because of my age

I think its because at that age you're still considered a minor.

That’s weird. I had my first at 17 and never had that problem. I only stayed in the hospital for 2 days.

They probably just want to make sure your totally comfortable before discharging a minor with an infant.

Weird I had my first 15 they never did that 🤷🏼♀️ even when I had my kids they never asked where my parents were 😂

That doesn’t make sense. I was 17 when I had my first baby and it was never an issue
