Finally home safely with my little baby boy, Sky. Few hours before getting discharged a part of the celling in maternity ward collapsed on my sleeping fiance (luckily he got away with just some muscle pain and a headache), surely gave us a scare as our newborn was just a few feet away, to think something like that would happen in what you'd think was the safest place for you and your baby. What would you do if it were you? Should I sue the hospital/nhs?

If you partner was injured to the point he was unable to work then yes I may consider it but personally I wouldn’t. He’s fine, your baby is fine and you are fine. That’s all that matters x

There is enough strain on the NHS, if nobody was seriously hurt then I would say there’s no need to sue them, it’s not like they gave neglectful care, it’s a structure issue, probably from all the rain

Personally I wouldn’t sue, they wouldn’t know the ceiling was going to collapse. If everyone was well then I would be happy. If you feel frustrated by it maybe ask for a debrief to find out what safety measures are now in place etc etc.
Ailsa was given the wrong breast milk in NICU and have to be screen three times for blood bourne viruses, a major error that never should have happened but I wouldn’t have sued

I think the nhs are strapped for cash as it is, I'd be grateful they safely delivered my baby and then looked after his dad so my whole family could be together, money wont fix anything. It certainly won't the ceiling if theyre being sued!
