Take him the doctors I don't mean to scare you but my boys have whooping cough, one doctor we seen thought it was influenza because of how red his eyes was, she said that only comes with flu i explained that he had been up for days coughing and vomiting the next morning in hospital when he woke up after a better night's sleep they wasn't red so they told me it wasn't the flu and was back to being the whooping cough..goodluck I pray its not that for you but just by what you've described it sounds it to me. Also my youngest was lathergic couple days ago got him seen at gp and told me to take him straight the hospital with how red his eyes was once again no sleep so it could just be that but they also diagnosed with whooping cough for him. Sorry to scare you jist book that appointment. Xxxx

How do you know the difference to whooping cough and flu?. You've scared me I have a 11 week old who stopped breathing at 15days old with bronculitus. DO NOT want whooping cough in the house as well. Thats really contagious.

@tashacoombes89 I didn't mean to scare you. Really sorry just going off what you've described he's had this cold for quite a while now. The difference is the sound of the cough when my youngest coughs he makes a whoop noise inbetween trying to catch a breath it last around a minute long and he goes red in the face. Were as my eldest didn't make that sound but vomits at the end of his coughing bout that's why I said the doctors thought it was the flu because you don't get red eyes when it's whooping cough but you do when it's the flu. Both quite similar is it only the baby baby with it or does ur other boy have any symptoms xxx

@tam96 nah it just my eldest. Touch wood my youngest hasnt got any of it and hopefully wont. 🤞 he broke out in a rash earlier too. Think he might be having an allergic reaction to something. But I havent changed anything at all. So guess I got to see how it all goes. Keeping him dosed up on calpol and cough syrup.

Whoop that lasts over a minute... oh my god. Fair play to you I would be in a mental home having a break down. That got to be so scary

Could just he burst blood vessels in the eyes from coughing? Sometimes colds cause eyes to be watery etc xx

Not been watery it's been funky eyes like conjuntivits, just havent been sticking together. Had the gunky eyes before the cough kicked in. His eyes have cleared up with some over the counter droplets. Now he still has the cold and a cough has just kicked in over last couple of hours. And complaining about a ear ache too
